Oliversan is a new Asian cuisine restaurant that has opened up in Burj Jassim Tower in Kuwait City. The concept belongs to the same owners as Maki and right now they’re in their soft launch phase opening in the evening from 7 t 11PM.
They serve mostly Chinese and Thai food and they’re located on the mezzanine floor. I haven’t tried them out yet since I just found out about the place and they were still closed when I was there.

I don’t understand the significance of the bowler hat on their signage. Charlie Chaplin? What’s the correlation with Asian food?
No idea, me and my friend asked each other same question. I guess from the movies? https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRCxp1oCcEw90MAeusyKpNOqE_85E5KbGV2Clh7WnmgHI8Hm1RJ2FsPlmjHOA
Same correlation between lamb and Asian food. š
Isn’t that a James Bond villain?
Oliversan as in Oliver from Dickens? That might explain the hat
Also, for the love of God when will restaurant owners STOP referring to their new restaurants as “concepts”?!
The owner of Maki’s last name is Zeitoun, which translates to Olive, hence Oliver. That’s why Maki’s website is olivermaki.com
kinda silly name and logo
Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy)

I think the word san which usually translates to sir in japanese has something to do with it.Like you see in those really old martial art movies where the japanese guy bows down in respect to the westerner saying his name and ending with san..like thank you Mr Robertsan. Robert-sir so maybe since some one said the owners’s name translates to Olive maybe the owner in keeping with the South East Asian theme of the restaurant played around with his own name to come up with Oliversan yani Oliver sir !! Who knows ?? The bowler hat could just be a reflection of the engish name oliver being addressed by a japanese national š
Or long story short it could be that the owner is playing games with our heads and wants us to carry on with mindless no point conversation š
