Pick and Wendy’s Now Open at the Airport

Last month Wendy’s opened up at the airport where Pinkberry used to be located, and a couple of weeks back, Pick opened up where Potbelly used to be. I especially like the fact that Pick opened up because at least we have a healthy option available at the airport now. Actually, the options for food now is pretty good with the addition of these two.

Is it in the “food court at the Airport” or “inside the airport (after passing the immigration)”?

Between the new restaurants and the reduced traffic, good ol’ KWI is going through a renaissance! Still many faults, but for those coming and going a lot, it is the little things that count…

Arby’s will be a good addition to complement Wendy’s. I was kinda hoping Pret a manger would surface sooner…..

I saw a video of someone touring the airport in 2023. The lounge replaced a Costa Coffee branch a long time ago and was recently renamed from Lounge 6 to Al-Freej Lounge, which in my opinion doesn’t make that much sense. Al-Rifai Roastery opened up, replacing C-Corner (the waffle stand). Häagen Dazs also opened up on the top floor, as well as a restaurant called Blend-It (I’m pretty sure it’s a coffee shop). Wendy’s (formerly Pinkberry) also closed down, and nothing took its place yet. Starbucks and Tick-It both shut down, with Tick-It being replaced by Mark Restaurant (old school Kuwaiti cuisine which I don’t think will attract many customers in an airport), while Starbucks remained vacant. Hallab 1981 قصر الحلو (possibly an Arabian sweets shop) also closed down. With all that, the only thing left was PICK (formerly Potbelly Sandwich Shop). However, eventually everything in this lounge was shut down, leaving the entire wooden structure vacant and boarded up. Hopefully the airport has plans to revive it and bring back at least some of the OG restaurants that were there, such as Starbucks (even though there’s one on the other side of the airport near Shake Shack), Pinkberry, Potbelly, Tick-It, and C-Corner. Also, I think the airport should bring back Chili’s Too on the other side to replace Shake Shack, Pizza Express, or Raising Canes. Please Mark, update us on the lounge’s progress (it’s my favorite lounge in the airport) and snap us some pics.
