I like this shakshooka concept, but Bneider!! Thats a little too far for most people. Any explanation why they hold their weekly market so far from “Kuwait” inhabited areas?
Shakshooka Market is usually held in inhabited areas, this is just their second time holding it in Bnaider and its because its eid and a lot of people are the chalet areas.
This idea of this market and the Quot market are great– some new and different in Kuwait. But the prices are often inflated and mostly geared to rich Kuwaitis, which isn’t so new at all.
amen to that. Another great idea made only palatable to the local population. Like putting a bookstore in Bayt Lothan… away from Kuwait where it was accessed by tonnes of expats in the past!
actually come to think of it … here’s a question for ppl. If a decently priced EXPAT market were to start up – would we then face all the legal issues that these markets don’t? I mean what’s stopping expats doing this… thoughts!
Qout and Shakshooka are not just for Kuwaitis, there are lots of expats that sell their products at these markets, maybe you should pass by one and check it out.

Why setup an expat-only market? Nothing prevents you from setting up a booth at shakshooka or quot. There are many expats selling goods at these events; and you are free to price as you wish.
Q8 Book Store? So let me get this right, you’re upset that a Kuwaiti girl used her own money to save her favorite bookshop from closing down? You’re upset that Bayt Lothan donated the space to her and she was able to set it up there, have the original EXPAT shop owner continue to run the place and make it even better than it ever was with lots of activities taking place all the time. You’re upset that she moved the bookstore from the city where few people live to a much more accessible Salmiya… a densely populated residential area where the majority of the residents are expats.

Shakshooka and Qout Market don’t set the prices of the products, the sellers do and the sellers aren’t all Kuwaiti so you can’t blame it on that either.
Qout and Shakshooka, how is this legal? they use government land for their own interest. Even if they get permits, which Qout does not have, the permit allows you to Show and not sell. Last Qout was held in al rayas parking, which is owned by the government and not raya.
Someone should sue them and the government
Qout takes place in the Arraya parking lot, that’s private property. Shakshooka also hold their weekly meetups on private property (not including this weeks which was held with Al Farsi Kits in Bnaider.
Also not sure whats up with all the hate. People are here complaining all the time that there isn’t anything to do and when there is something to do people complain about it as well.
Stop hating, enjoy life.

Its very simple – If you don’t like it, don’t go. There are many people who enjoy visiting these events.

i don’t find legitimate questions about what is generally for sale and its price hate.
the target market , given the majority of items for sale and their price, is kuwaitis .
that observation is not hate
and the majority of customers to better books and participants in its activities are expats
Better Books is different from Q8 Book Store
Qout market is awesome are people seriously complaining about it
