Hmmm…
After thinking this was too epic a fail to be true, I thought there might be a bit more to it, I tried looking closer, and I think they never meant it to be read in Arabic, they just chose some Arabic (and some not so Arabic) letters and arranged them to look a bit like the exact phrase in English.
So even in that gibberish it says “I am a tourist not a terrorist” in English.
Do you guys see it too?

It’s still a fail, and a shitty t-shirt, just not as epic as I first thought 😛

There’s no Ù‚ (gaf) in the English or Arabic equivalent sentence… so it’s a definite fail. I don’t know what you’re on about Mohamed.

What Mohamed means is that you’re not supposed to read the Arabic script in Arabic. Look at it as though each Arabic script letter looks like an English letter. That is, “thaal”= i, “taa2 marboo6a”= a, “seen”= m, etc etc.

It’s stupid but I get the idea.

What’s an epic fail is the fact some idiots think that the Arabic writing is a direct translation from the English text.As Mohamed stated it was NEVER meant to be read in Arabic.

This is a font called Pseudo-Saudi (or something like that) and its meant to use Arabic letters to form English letters.. If you look at it from far away without paying much attention to each single letter, it’s supposed to say the same thing.. So no, it’s not Arabic fail, it’s just a poor sense of design 🙂
