NEWSFLASH….not all women are interested in you Kuwaiti men…at least not me. By the way, looking at his arms, which are gross, he probably has skinny legs because he doesn’t work out his legs. This is why UBER will not work in Kuwait, because guys like this will register to find girls, girls will be harassed or worse and will complain to UBER.

Because I was referencing another topic you brought up the other day with this one that validates the point that this type of guy could sign up for UBER to meet girls. Women in Kuwait, if they are decent, live in fear in Kuwait of being harassed whether they walk down the street, drive down the street or walk in a mall. Men here are overly aggressive. My experience with UBER overseas was ordinary people who register with UBER using their own cars. Who’s going to register with UBER here? Aggressive guys like this, smelly sub-continent men with their filthy cars (ie most taxis in Kuwait) or maybe, just maybe normal people which I really doubt. Would I use UBER in Kuwait as a woman if it comes to fruition, no, I would be afraid.

Uber has multiple aspects and one is that everyday people (usually students) can sign up to become uber drivers for extra money. But that service isn’t available everywhere, it’s available in a few places where the laws are flexible enough to allow that. Uber in the region won’t have that service like that option also isn’t available in London or Dubai for example. Only registered taxis/limo services will be able to sign up to use uber.

Then, Mark, it will be successful. As long as people feel safe and the cars are clean, UBER is great. I heard a wealth of stories by taxi drivers about bad experiences with UBER in some US cities, but my experiences were good and were ordinary people driving for UBER, using their own cars in a friendly small US city. I wish Emirates allowed their chauffeur service in Kuwait. But getting back to this story, not all women like aggressive men like this and some people here just don’t even find this funny but offensive. I don’t experience this in Dubai, only Kuwait, hence, why I feel free and safer in Dubai than Kuwait.

Dear Princess Maryiam,

Both guys and girls all over the world may or may not do extreme things to catch the the desired affection and attention of their interests.

Yes, I agree due to the social restrictions of not allowing the culture to publicly socialize freely changes the way both sexes behave. Certainly this impacts the maturity levels of both sexes and incubates dysfunctional behaviors.

Unfortunately, there is no true freedom here to discover and gain experience deciphering their characters or moral values. This leaves a large amount of people not knowing or having the open platform to engage in building stable mannerisms.

This country has a lot of growing up to do, it is still behaving as a toddler, but with adult responsibilities. It takes generations to change societies, but societies should fully embrace the change. I do not see this happening here anytime soon. Everyone is happy playing dual roles, one hat falsely pretending like they give a shit about the social expectations or values, haram! The other, balancing their teams of which each members participates a different play in the haram fun and games. Such a small about of people want the change. Inequality is the operating model.

Anyway, back to the guys and girls crusin’ the beat; I remember chasing girls in grade school around the playground exhibiting the same unskilled clumsy conversations. Kuwait is just a giant playground we all have chosen stay in for one reason or another. It’s not going to grow up anytime soon so embrace your decision to be here or you may chose to disembark on this chapter of your life.

In the meantime, just sit back, build your routines, live your hobbies, escape when you can and enjoy the show!

It can be uber fun!

This post reeks of feminism.

First, not all Kuwaiti men are interested in “you” and not all Kuwaiti men are the same as the one in the video posted. Second, while I agree his arms look ridiculous (probably injects steroids), no one knows what his legs look like so stop it with these ad hominem attacks. Last, what in the living flying fuck does UBER have to do with this video? What on earth triggers you to bring UBER to this conversation? Are you one of those people that hyperventilate outside their homes thinking they’re gonna get raped? Harassment against women in Kuwait does happen somewhat frequently but not to the point where public transportation is place of rapists to hunt for their prey. I just can’t understand the logic behind you talking about your interest in “Kuwaiti men”, that guy’s legs size then UBER.

hate to be the voice of reason here but, albeit this is a funny segment, it masks a truly disgusting face anyone who drives in Kuwait is all-too-familiar with. Yes this is funny now, but what is not funny is when the guy is persistently chasing after the girl, zig-zagging in and out of traffic or causing a huge backlog of traffic as they slow down to crawling speed to “attempt” a drive-by flirt.

Now before everyone jumps down my throat to “take it easy”, “its only a joke”, “if you dont like it leave”, think for a second; not against the video, but against what it represents.

And yes, the background laughter is HILARIOUS LMFAO.

This is almost extinct in Kuwait at the moment. I don’t even recall the last time I saw it. All thanks to Snapchat and Instagram.

It’s sad yes, but why isn’t anyone working on a solution or at least figure out why such thing occurs at an alarming rate? I myself think it’s something to do with (SOME) Kuwaiti men’s sexual frustration and social pressure to date a girl or show his friends/strangers that he’s chasing a girl as a sign of glorifying his “Straightness” as a way to suppress his homosexuality/bisexuality or even pan/omnisexuality. I believe if the country starts teaching and enlightening men and women about sexuality (Not necessary what is “OK” or not because that will be controversial) so they wouldn’t end up being pressured to fake their feelings at the price of others being harassed.

It’s allll fun and games until he gets aggressive and starts harassing her in the middle of the street. This is why people should educate their children, So they’ll grow up knowing that such things are unacceptable!

I wouldn’t have even rolled my window down in the first place. But yes, this is always a form of entertainment. They used to chase women all the time before smart phones. It is scary to have a guy chase you all the way to your area and have to hide or pull into the police station to get rid of them but now they don’t even look up from their phones anymore. You can’t get anyone’s attention these days.

Chasing women still didnt die… If theres a woman who wants to be chased then there will be guys like that anywhere in the world not only kuwait… But honestly that guy who is taking the video laughs like crazy though i didnt really understant anything, listening to his laugh makes me laugh too…funny.

it isn’t always the woman acting like she wants to be chased, me as an american i like to drive with the windows down and music loud, it doesn’t mean that i am seeking attention. i’ve had men chase me with my kids in the car numerous times and throw things inside my window (phone numbers) it is ridiculous and there isn’t anyway to stop them in the moment. they don’t seem to care that it is dangerous with kids in the car or that obviously i am married if i have kids with me. they scream and shout and blow kisses, no respect for me or my kids.

+1 , but not dumb.

Agreed this situation can be entirely avoided. When you’re driving in the slums or ghetto you probably would’t be driving with the window down blaring music unless you’re apart of the Vato-locos gang.

Street smarts when you’re on the streets people.

Knock-knock – Who’s there? – It’s your brain….use it!

In my opinion, I think the only thing keeping these kind of guys alive is the fact that SOME girls want to be chased. Like I know a bunch of girls that want to just cruise down the gulf road just to get chased by guys for fun. Or look for a good-looking guy that might date her. And Im not talking about non-kuwaiti girls. They are Kuwaiti as I am. الله يستر عليهم Shameful really.

when did listening to music and having the windows down become dumb??? my kids enjoy it, how about respect yourself before challenging my parenting. at least im with my kids not leaving them with the damn nanny 24/7 like most of the people here

Mizbuffy the Vampire,

It’s not dumb and can be done in the right time, right place. Knowing certain areas in Kuwait or anywhere in the world for various reasons might cause the disturbances, you might want to minimize attention.

Cruisin the wild game parks doing the same might not be the best idea even if your kids enjoy it. I’m not sure what nanny’s have to do with it, I was raised with a nanny in the states as both my parents had full-time and part-time jobs to support our family. I have my flaws, but she supported raising my brothers and I. We’re just fine.

Don’t be so defensive. Just embrace your surroundings and fit in accordingly.

In the meantime, happy jamming!
