Can police or secret service or whatever see facebook chats? and can they still see it with Secure Browsing (https) turned on please, help an ent in need. I really don’t want to die. I’m going to delete this post after 24 hours

Yes, not as funny as it might seem- there is a spyware available which is sold to mainly law enforcement/governments called Finfisher/Finspy made by Gamma Group…..reportedly used in Bahrain recently.

Is he really paranoid?
Over the past year plenty of bloggers, tweeters, and Youtube uploaders have been arrested for things they have posted online. Some are still being prosecuted and others have been jailed for periods between 4 to 6 years.

Just few weeks ago, local news papers wrote about a court ruling in one case that was filed after police invistigation. Apparently, two female tweeters were cyber-sexing with two other different male tweeters. There were exchange of of nude photos and stuff. The court ruled that we don’t have any regulations regarding people knowing each others and cyber-sexing and that the ministry of interior should have not monitored those couples. The lesson we learn from this case is that they are in fact monitoring everything and they lack knowldge in the law so they will prosecute you for whatever they don’t like.

Two days ago I was looking at my whatsapp and noticed that I only have one number in my block list. I couldn’t remember whose number is this. I put the number in TrueCaller and the result came was an law officer full name and rank, it had over 40 confirmed matches. My heart sunk and I wondered why do I have him on my block list. I put his number back to see if I can get any previous conversations… I saw the whatsapp profile picture of this contact and I remembered! The picture is different but contained the same individuals most noticable an old man who was claimed to be a father. About three months back, I joined Arabic speaking Kuwaiti forum. Who appeared to be a female approached me in the private messaging and wanted to chat with me on whatsapp. I was getting along very well with almost everyone on the forum so I figured why not. I added her and she seemed to want to take the relationship further so I blocked her and deleted the chat.

Today, there is really discussion on what is implementing the law and what is considered entrapment. For some reason, local law enforcement don’t seem to recognize the line between the two and most cases filed against people who make online posts are get rejected by court for being misinterpreted or officers entrapping people. Some people argue that there is reduced freedom of speech, indeed a comment such as mine can be interpreted in different ways and if someone wishes to implement the national security law i can be sentenced for years in prison under the “hurting the country’s position abroad” law!

All of the above justifies the funny position we are at today were most Kuwaiti bloggers do not allow comments prior to review. Even if their blogs is only rating cupcakes and mobile phones!

Being a law officer doesn’t mean an individual being an idiot.

Just incase he or someone else reads and speculates I’ll make it easier for them:

idiot (ˈɪdɪət)

— n
1. a person with severe mental retardation
2. a foolish or senseless person

Ref: Collins English dictionary.

And I know which of the 2 meaning I am referring to.

And just a final remark… across the world, privacy is a hoax. All our emails, messages, phone conversations are logged and recorded. Thanks to modern technologies, our movements are also positions are also available for grabs. They may require an official court order for the procedure to be legal and for you to get prosecuted. But they don’t have to if they just want to know who you are, who do you know, what can be held against you, recruit you or kidnap you.

A good rule of thumb is to never post or write anything that you do not want in tomorrow’s newspaper.

“I always feel like somebody’s watching me…….and I got no privacy wohoho”, should be his theme song. We all know Kuwaiti security listens to our phone conversations here already. His “dealer” must be selling some bath salt cuz’ he sure sounds like he’s paranoid and hallucinating, hopefully he won’t be out in the street eating someone’s face off like the guy in the states.

If its posted on the internet its there for the world to see.

Most people have no idea how to cover their tracks on the internet. Most who think they do are mostly wrong. I hail from a time when DOS ruled supreme, Warp OS was the schnitz, Windows wasn’t created and the internet was ruled by anoraks.

I am the police, and I’m here to arrest you. You’ve broken the law. I did not write the law. I may disagree with the law but I will enforce it. No matter how you plead, cajole, beg or attempt to stir my sympathy. Nothing you do will stop me from placing you in a steel cage with gray bars. If you run away I will chase you. If you fight me I will fight back. If you shoot at me I will shoot back. By law I am unable to walk away. I am a consequence. I am the unpaid bill. I am fate with a badge and a gun. Behind my badge is a heart like yours. I bleed, I think, I love, and yes I can be killed. And although I am but one man, I have thousands of brothers and sisters who are the same as me. They will lay down their lives for me and I them. We stand watch together. The thin-blue-line, protecting the prey from the predators, the good from the bad. We are the police.
