I don’t watch a lot of Arabic shows but I can’t get enough of the show Swar Shuaib. Shuaib has to be the funniest Arab talk show host anywhere, he’s so good I actually subscribed to his YouTube channel so I don’t miss an episode. His last few episodes had me glued to the screen thinking no way, no way he just asked them that question. Although Shuaib plays the role of a Conan or a Jimmy Fallon, unlike them he does ask all the right questions, ones that most of the time viewers are thinking about. I’m actually surprised any guests actually end up on the show since he does put them in some tough spots.
The first episode I ever watched was when he interviewed the flamboyant Mohammed Diego from the YouTube channel Fashion House of Diego. Shuaib didn’t play around, he asked him about his wardrobe choices, the way he poses and basically questioning his sexual orientation. In Shuaib’s latest episode he interviews the popular instagram fashionista Fatima Almomen (video on top, starts at the 9:50 mark). The first thing he does during the interview is pull out a scale from under his desk and asks her to weigh herself. If that wasn’t awkward enough he then later starts asking her if she had any plastic surgery done. When she denies she has he pulls out old photos of her to compare. When she continues denying she had anything done, he then invited a plastic surgeon to come on stage and examine her. I was dying, it was such a good episode. Surprisingly, even though there were a ton of awkward moments and questions, both Diego and Fatima handle themselves really well which I thought was pretty cool of them.
Swar Shuaib is in Arabic only and if you’re interested in watching more episodes then check out the YouTube channel [Here]

Didn’t think you’d be into him. I don’t know why, I just didn’t.
I love him. Fallon, Kimmel et al. don’t hold a candle to him. He is way more probing than they’ll ever be, they’re pussycats.
I was actually just telling a friend that I think he’s my favorite talk show host at the moment period. Not just Arabic talk show host but I mean like any talk show host.
Ikr?
But have you seen Chatty man?
nope
He very well could be your new favorite host.
you sure don’t know who Conan O’brian is then haha.
Edge Swair out of first position.
Of course she didn’t have any “surgeries”, thanks to the magic of botox and makeup.
I saw one or two, but I just realized how probing he is lol
that woman at the end isn’t a surgeon lol hes just joking around .. she’s famous (not sure what she does) and he interviewed her a while back as well.
she’s famous in Instagram from Saudi (i think she’s just another fashionista) but she’s defiantly not a surgeon haha 😛
Yeah her name is Nusra. She’s a fashion blogger/social figure in KSA. Definitely not a plastic surgeon
This show is all about hosting personalities and humiliate them in a very crude manner. Which basically why I enjoy it most of the time.
Since the host mentiones several times that the guest watches the whole interview afterwards and it goes online with their consent, I don’t think it’s considered humiliation anymore, and also consider the known reputation of Kuwaiti and Arab celebrities to act in candid cameras, so this is more like watching staged entertainment with a taboo flavour.
Basically they are a joke. The things you do to be exposed huh?
TBH once the guest is in place and the cameras start rolling it automatically means that the guest consents on whatever happens on the show. That is why some guests chose to leave and didnt continue.
I wish they had English subtitles or if a viewer could do it, that would be great. It would help in learning Arabic too.
I highly recommend The Graham Norton Show – he basically gets his guests drunk during the show – good stuff.
This is all staged and good amount of money exchanged as well. Every actor always gets all the questions before the interview so its all acting.
money can do everything.
Sorry to break it to you but every talk show on tv is like that. From this guy to Fallon. Everything is rehearsed. Perception is very important and that is why they make sure they can control how you perceive them. Also, none of it is a bad thing. If it’s entertaining then by all means, go for it.
I think he gives them a general idea but not in details. Did you watch this one? Doesn’t look rehearsed, she ended up getting pissed and leaving https://youtu.be/oIHuAwYLW-U
Ya that could be the case. It’s more of a known thing in the industry. Fallon is always criticized by commenters for his fake laugh but people like him, so its all good. But the difference between this and western talk shows is that they are all not edited and have an audience. I believe that what they do this is they follow that same theme yet add a couple more cutscenes and bits to really set itself apart from the rest. I’m a huge fan but I also know that its a little prepared, and i’m okay with that. As long as it doesn’t too staged then do as you will.
The only episode was rehearsed is the last episode E12. In all episode we give the guest the list of questions except the part called “تحت الطاولة” that’s our action selling segment.
According to the host, there is no money involved, but there is promise of millions of views all across the arab world. So if you’re a forgotten or unknown piece of ass, this is the way to go.
Highly doubt it’s staged or money is exchanged, unless you have proof otherwise
I was saying that with +2 years of work experience in a sattelite tv channel in Kuwait.
Unless you got paid to advertise him , its something else lol.
So basically you don’t have any proof…
Did you watch this episode? https://youtu.be/oIHuAwYLW-U
Duuude. Dont watch arabic shows. But I think i know why this dude’s cool. He’s James Franco’s freaking Arab doppelganger. Cool.
Ew no.
James Franco is a sex god.
But Franco also stole my friend and I’m still cheesed about that.
Seth Rogen’s your friend? I wanna be your friend.
LOL no!
Seth Rogen is not my friend!
James has other friends you know?
LOL I’m sure you’re cool too!
OMG, Jonah Hill is your friend.
Agree the talk show is really good, but no way you find him very funny!!
his Youtube channel will be the first in Kuwait to get youtube gold play button since he reached more then 1 million subscribers
he is good
Thanks Mark for your feedback. Glad you liked it.
He’s awesome but he looks a bit run down sometimes like he just got off a huge drug/alcohol bender. I guess you have to self medicate to take the pressure of such a show and the high burden in this society.
