I was actually going to poke fun out of this image which has gone viral with a “Only Kuwait Airways” title but figured I’d do a bit of research first. Turns out it’s actually not that uncommon for pilots to use car shades in the cockpit, some even use newspapers or maps. It’s still awkward that it says Toyota, but it’s still better than a Winnie the Pooh sunshade.

I follow a Kuwaiti pilot on Instagram and he posted this picture as well, and he says the temperature in the cockpit can reach 40 degrees celsius if the sun is hitting them directly, which is crazy.
When they’re on the ground that is
maybe They should have their own shades being aware of the temperature in Kuwait.
I’m surprised there’s no instagram account of a dude that sells customized sun shades for aeroplanes.
