You need a dual-core processor system, with 2Gb or more of fast RAM, a 256Mb or better display card, a hard drive better than what’s currently available and, if we want to watch the upcoming high defininition multimedia content, a monitor that doesn’t even exist yet! [Link]

Thats why Vista is going to be a revolution.
haha! at least 2GB of RAM?! that means more than half of the PC users will have to buy more RAM.. they cant be serious?!
thank God im MACin it.. my iBook RULES!!
HOLY CRAP! I thought my computer was top of the line, but noo..shit, those stuff aren’t even needed yet. DUAL-CORE processor system? More than 2GB of RAM!?!?! 1GB was enough…damn, seriously, Vista is going to be a big bust. It would just be much greater to install OSX and Windows XP on Intel systems. Go Mac!
“But those specifications are for optimum use. They don’t mean that any system with less will be unable to run the OS. The specifications simply mean that systems of lesser capability won’t run it as well. It’s fair to say that we’re back to the same situation we were in when Windows XP was first introduced. Current systems run it but future systems will run it properly!”
Its called advance, it happens every year =)
Hmm..it doesn’t coincide with what I read..
“RAM — PC systems should have 512MB of memory or more.”
“If you are building or buying PC today, you probably want to avoid the low end of the current GPU range and make sure you get a GPU that supports DirectX 9 and has at least 64 MB of graphics memory.”
check it out..

Where is Fadi when you need him ..
No body is forcing you to switch to Vista (not now at least) .. they are avoiding the mistakes of the older windows os’s (building the operating system on current technology instead of future tech.)
And FWIW, it isnt launching until sometime in 2006 .. 300KD can get you an amazing vista system by then.
K: I think you said it best, by the time of the launch, the basic system will be coming with 1 or 2GB of RAM.
I will give a free copy of Vista to my close friends who love Windows and Microsoft and let you add more RAM for that money.
