Be productive, type faster

keyboard

A cool flash based typing app that calculates how fast you type. When I was in university I hit 70wpm in my touch typing class, I wonder how I would compare now. [Link]

typing score

update: I just hit 66wpm but I am lying down on my couch watching Rush Hour 3 (which sucks btw) and typing on my unconventional MacBook keyboard. I am sure I could easily hit 70+ while sitting at my desk typing on a regular keyboard.

I’ve done like 43 exercises so far
Wow it felt so easy typing the sentence above ^ 😛
Some funky-ass words, this is completely not what I expected for a typing exercise 😛
According to my chart:
43 exercises, top speed: 78, average speed: 56
It’s tricky because you only type with a set of keys rather than all of them…and your brain tricks you into typing a word close to the one you’re typing, that’s why it gets easier as you reach lesson 2 then 3.
Anyways, “Adopfailia”‘s and “Ffiguishio”‘s to you all! 😛

This is a useless test because it’s not giving you real words to type.

Words like AGLABANGO don’t exist, and never will.

A real and useful test will give you sentences to copy.

Get competitive and you’ll make typing an olympic sport.

This is a test I don’t want to excell at, more like be average. If I’m too good, I’m a loser who has no life. If I’m too bad, I’m a caveman who should carve on rocks.

I can hit 100+ when I’m typing real words. It’s actually much harder for me to type these fake words. I did better in lesson 3 (98) than I did in lesson 1 (~50).

mark hats off to u, the reason being that me new in kuwait and been following your page since the alt six mnths and me here for around 10 mnths, but no day of mine goes without at least checking yer site once a day. you provide so much info that i have stopped reading the newspaper and wish you all the best in life and may u provide such info always

I agree with manish. Seriously Mark, your blog is addictive!

I tried keybr.com but it wouldn’t work. I click on “PAUSE, click to continue” but nothing happens. At first I thought it was because I’m running Linux but now I tried it at work with XP, it still won’t work 🙁
