I’ve been getting emails from people who heard a really large explosion around the Ahmadi/Subhan area. Does anyone know anything about it?

Update: According to the Ministry of Defense, the sound was the result of an air force jet breaking the sound barrier during the GCC joint war games that are currently taking place in the desert.

We did feel an explosion and a bit of vibration..no idea what it was..for a moment we were like WTF???but then went back to work!! :S

i have witnessed a F-16 sonic boom near kuwait airport and it doesn’t shake buildings !!! could be something else.

I live on about 200 meter off the flight line where F16s take off. Just them taking off vibrates my bed every morning, I would imagine what a sonic boom would be like

in Al-rai but it sounded everyone i aksed said it was a car or something

Its the Der3 el jazara training most likely, they are having live fire training

Definitely shook our building in Ahmadi

It shook our entire porta-cabin office building in Ahmadi – we thought the local Contractor had crashed into us. Again.

The loudest sonic boom has been heard in Jahra and the northern area where the GCC military forces are holding trainings.

Ministry of Defence has released a statement before around 1 hour, it confirmed the incident which was as a result of some air fighters that broke the sound barrier.
