The Avenues Phase 4

phase4

Construction work on The Avenues Phase 4 has begun and the new extension will officially include the following:

– A five-star hotel
– Grand Avenue extension
– Prestige extension
– The Electra District, modeled after Times Square in New York
– The Plaza District, inspired by Piazza San Marco in Venice
– The Orchid District, an area with boutiques and hanging gardens with restaurants at the center
– More entertainment options

They are planning to have Phase 4 completed by late 2016. You can see a rendering of the Orchid District as well as the hotel in an old Avenues Mall animation [Here]. Not sure how accurate those two areas are but everything else in the video was already built and in reality looks similar to whats in the video.

Thanks ChaoticTranquility

Update: According to a contact of mine it seems I might have highlighted both Phase 4 and 5 in yellow on the first map on top. Also I was informed there is a plan for an underpass or bridge similar to Marina Mall that would cross over (or under) the Ghazali highway to the other side where more phases will be built in the future (check map below).

Sorry… Two years.. still, it is a huge project to be completed in this time and also looking at the fact that the work on the big hole is still ongoing.

welling to bet it will not finish anywhere near the end 2016… as I said, half the info here is not correct (and I know it is) 😉

Logically, this is not a government project and dates may be off but they won’t be that far. Alshaya is doing a great job, keep it up.

The International Trade Union Confederation confirmed workers in Kuwait are protected by laws more than workers in other GCC states

UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have a rating of 5, which means no guarantee of rights. Kuwait has a rating of 4. The report evaluates workers rights for both Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis

There’s much more slavery in India than in Kuwait. Let’s not forget the Caste System and the millions of child slaves in rural India.

I find it funny that you take every opportunity to trash Kuwait as much as possible. 99.9% of your comments in this blog are anti-Kuwait.

Still think it will finish at the end of 2016!

As I said… half the info in the post comes with no logic or backup. Check mabanee yearly report for accuracy.

A hotel, that’s great, I can now take my time to visit all of The Avenues, when I get tired I can go to my room and rest. Isn’t the hotel supposed to be accommodating the travelers coming into Kuwait since there isn’t an airport hotel?

Kuwait’s hotels have a high occupancy rate

Most tourists in Kuwait are Saudi dual citizens so it’s technically ‘domestic tourism’ although these dual citizens don’t actually reside in Kuwait throughout the year.

A huge portion of the footfall into Avenues is saudi tourists. It’s much bigger than you’d think, I was surprised when a Mabanee employee told me about it.

It’s pretty stupid to complain about something like this.

I’m not against the idea but it does raise some issues like traffic. It’s already pretty bad getting into the parking lot and finding a spot but after the new phase is open, you could be getting more people coming in through the same entrances.

I actually stopped having issues with parking after they opened phase 3. I can be in and out super quickly even on busy weekends and there are always many spots available where i park. you just need to know where to go and park. I NEVER for example use the parking entrances near the 5th ring road, its chaos. Instead I always come in on the other side specifically what they call the kidzania entrance. As soon as you go in go down to B3 and you’ve got tons of empty parking and no traffic. Easy in and out even on busy weekends. I found parking there during the evening on eid it took me less than 10 minutes to get out as well. On the other hand for some reason I forgot where I parked my car and spent 25 minutes walking around looking for it.

Enough of what exactly? You mean more already. This is the one of the few places in this country that doesn’t make you feel like you are living in the past.

I have doubts about phase 5. First, it will be very difficult to go under ghazali, there is a huge ground water reservoir built recently thats one. second thing, the land which they want to build phase 5 itself is a closed landfill and large parts of it contain asbestos. legally they can’t do it.

There is no phase 6. the area next to the avenues is dedicated for the government as a park and needs major environmental cleanup (read asbestos contamination)

Well I’ve dealt with this source for some time now and he’s been very reliable. So if he says there are plans to possibly expand the Avenues across the road then most likely his info is correct.

There is no phase 6 there lol. it was planned surface parking and got rejected by the government. with all due respect, your source probably over heard something about the next part of the development and started making up shit lol يعني يزيد بهارات عالطبخة لين صارت ماصخة ههههه

Why don’t they add a fighting ring or a race track so they can divert the hooligans to these areas and keep them out of the malls. Hmmmm #Kuwait? Oh….and let them smoke in these areas and not in the mall Hmmmmm #Kuwait that might be civilized.

Bahrainis would want that!

Many buses come from Bahrain every weekend full of Bahrainis who specifically come here just to shop at the Avenues

would have been ideal if something of a similar class came up at another location far away from this one, right now it seems all of the plans are extensions that are concentrated in that one location..
