Beirut is now the most expensive city in the Middle East

According to a survey by EuroCost International, Beirut is now the most expensive city in the Middle East and 10th world wide when it comes to housing. Beirut, “the Paris of the Middle East” is ironically more expensive to live in than the real Paris. Second place is Abu Dhabi coming in at 12. Dubai this year is off the Top 20 list. [Link]

no it’s not

a 400m2 land in AL salam

costs about 200-350 thousand kd

the majority of kuwaitis don’t have 100K to buy a land in abu faterah (east of Gurian ) that’s why rent prices r so fucking high

You should have said “it used to be the Paris of the middle east”, now Beirut is not the Paris of the ME 🙂 it does not look like Paris and it is not the most beautiful city in the ME….. Please don’t get offended by this.

I think Dubai is the most beautiful and Damascus the most culturally rich but that’s just my opinion.I can’t think of a city that has natural beauty.

Kuwait is of course…and btw Lebanon is not in the middle east or i dnt consider it to be..the middle east is: KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and Yemen

lol wth, it’s not up to you to decide whats in the middle east and what isn’t.. its based on geographical location and not personal opinion. The countries you listed are the Gulf Countries.. you can’t count Lebanon a Gulf country yes because it isn’t located in the Gulf but Lebanon is located in the Middle East.

@ TP.You should brush up on your geographical skills. The Middle East consists of North African like Egypt,Algeria,Tunisia,Morocco as well as all the countries on the Arabian Peninsula and Jordan,Syria,Lebanon,Iraq and Israel.

Lebanon is not Middle East, it is in the West – Lebanon is located in Western Asia. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the west along a 225-kilometre (140 mi) coastline, by Syria to the east and north, and by Israel to the south. The Lebanon-Syria border stretches for 375 kilometres (233 mi) and the Lebanon-Israel border for 79 kilometres (49 mi).
Lat 7ikoonha wiyana 😛

1st of all lebanon is in the west not middle(found that online) and 2nd is that i dnt really like people comparing Kuwait to lebanon cause Kuwait is in a whole other league

Guys what school did you go to? Lebanon IS in West Asia and it’s also in the middle east! What the hell? This is like geography 101, not even this is like childrens book geography…

Hold on a second. I have a simple question for those people who are saying Lebanon is not part of the Middle East.

If its NOT part of the Middle East, then what region is it part of? The Middle West? Seriously.

Thanks Mark for clearing that up.Technically Lebanon is in Asia, just like Kuwait, but it also falls under the region known as the Middle East.

Turkey isn’t part of the European Union, it just wants to be. It does however, span both Asia and Europe.
Egypt and Yemen on the other hand, span Africa and Asia, although only as a tiny overlap.

The ‘Middle East’ is a term to describe the area. As for the continent, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and to the east are all part of Asia. (Yes, you are all Asian whether you like it or not!)
Most of Egypt and countries to the west are part of Africa.

“Beirut is not in the middle east” wow ahahahaha I would think that’s an argument a lebanese guy would use to prove that lebs are not arab, they are Phoenician from the “middle west” looooooooooool and Dubai looks like a plastic toilet.

Dubai? Beautiful? From which angle? I’d struggle to find a beautiful spot in Dubai from the top of Burj Dubai on a clear day.

People that live in Dubai say its ugly. It just a concrete jungle.

So consequently if rents are soo high, then everything else must be prohibitively expensive in Beirut?

People who read this blog take everything waaaay too seriously!! Lol! The comments always crack me up 😀 lighten up ya 7ilweeen :p

it depends how you define the ME. There is no clear specific geographioc defenition of the middle east, lebanon is a few miles of Cyprus which is part of the EU , on the other hand some people say that Afghanistan is in the ME too anyways I dont think its fair to brand all these countries under the name Middle East because of the negative stereotypes accociated with the region.

Well to be realistic , Libanon is prety country and we called Paris de l est . but as libanon has civil war , it lost this charming tittle.
secondly Libaon is in middel east no doubt about it is not in Golf
as far as beauty , i must sham whcih suryia libanon and Palestian has nice climat and beautu scape, unfortenely war destroyed it
Libanon poeple called arans but deeply they are pheniciens , no doubt about it and they have different faith religion living under one roof
and i must say libanon and syrian and egyptians and palestians are more well educated in terms of numbers,
dubai is not high tourist destination eventhough it is become famous because of some events like rally , and music festival and son plus petrol oil country egypt not part of midleeast geograpgicaly but policaaly yes ok
jordan is part of middel east whcih part of sham Kobra grand sham so please dont be celver
thanks all
