Back in April I posted that Conrad Hotel and Hilton Garden Inn both might be coming to Kuwait as part of The Avenues phase 4 expansion and today this news was officially announced. Conrad Hotel will be part of The Prestige section of the mall while Hilton Garden Inn will be connected to the new section of the mall thats being built called The Forum.

It would be amazing if you could buy/rent apartments there, like on empty floors u find in those buildings in the grand avenue.

I’m kinda surprised why they chose the conrad to be located in prestige, whilst the four seasons will be in Burj Al Shayaa! I feel FS has a more “prestige” vibe going on, rather than in the middle of downtown Kwt.

I actually prefer that four seasons is in the city because it’s a luxury brand. I don’t want to go to a mall for a fancy dinner and the kind of crowd that will be staying at a hotel connected to a mall is different from ones staying in the city.

So there are people who specially come to the Avenues for shopping that would need a place to stay there itself?!

That’s how big Avenues is gonna be, you’re gonna need to spend the night half way through the mall and then make your way to the end the next day. Plus u have GCC tourists who like coming to Kuwait and would love to stay in Avenues.

Is there really a demand for that many hotel rooms in Kuwait? I can understand the need in Bahrain / Dubai where there is a lot of tourist traffic, but in Kuwait?

Those two hotels will likely be very busy. I agree with you on the demand for hotel rooms point. Hotels in Kuwait make most of their profits from their ballrooms.

actually hotels in Kuwait are usually fully booked, and there is a high demand for more hotels, as GCC citizens see kuwait as an alcohol free dubai and saudis especially usually fill the hotels on weekends. add to that many familial relations and the couple of thousand dual saudi/kuwaiti citizens etc..

I love The Avenues, and this is great. People from neighbouring countries can come for the weekend and just stay at The Avenues, they’ll have tons of things to do and not worry about going out.

i still think that the anenues should push to get the empty land on the other side of the ghazali street, connect it with a tunnel, and expand over there

he deserves all the gov backing

I used to be so iffy about how the Avenues is quickly becoming Kuwait’s identity, but now I realize that honestly, it’s way too hot most of the year to spend time in outdoor locations, so such a well-stocked place like the Avenues is a pretty important asset for Kuwaiti tourism. There are still a lot of things missing in Kuwait, the most predominant of which being a clean, classy, spacious, and fun swimming resort for women in Kheiran or MS, but when I see all the expansions happening in the country, I am imbued with hope.
I hope there’s a cool rock climbing gym for grown ups in the new expansion 😁

The Conrad isn’t such a bad brand after all although a Peninsula, a Mandarin Oriental or a Shangri La would have been more in keeping with the prestige of the Prestige. That said, I think it will be super cool having the Four Seasons downtown and away from Al Rai, which last I noticed was still deemed an industrial area. With the planned extension to Al Shaheed Park, the Four Seasons will soon overlook what promises to be a rather spiffy precinct. Say, Four Seasons on the Kuwaiti Hyde Park.
