Grand Cinemas Opening During Eid

Grand Cinemas, the new theater company in Kuwait will be opening in Al Hamra Tower during Eid. The theater once open will have a total of 9 screens with one of them being a VIP theater which I’ve been told will rival those of Dubai.

Update: The launch has been postponed [Link]

does that mean, we no long we have to suffer for cinescape commercials and prices drop in reasonable range?

if only they release anime movies that is outstanding like evangelion 3.0? would release in november 17th 2012.

Lol, no

3 KD is a pretty normal price for tickets for one thing, the trailers will always be there, and they don’t make enough money from releasing something like Evangelion

Yes, 3KD is normal price for full movies, but this is very expensive for censored movies.

After watching movie in Cinemascape I always downloading same movie from torrents and watching again for missed parts.

Did you watch the Hangover II in Cinemascape? Almost half of movie was censored 🙁

I know this censorship isn’t because of Cinemascape, but 3KD is really expensive for half movies.

I agree of everything you have said. Paying such huge amount for a movie that has almost lost the important scenes is unfair to the movie goers…In my case, I do the same thing downloading movies from torrents with HD or DVDRIP and it gives me more than what I want to see to a film without any restrictions occurs.

They are a great chain – their IMAX in Ibn Batuta Mall makes the one in 360 look like a baqala.

Their food is great; popcorn, pizza etc.

Great THX certified theaters – clean digital prints and screen ratios that are excellent and quite large.

At the very least the sound and print quality should be top notch and the food much better than Cinescape – especially the popcorn.

Guys you actually think theyre a new company , its just cinescape under a diffrent name …. How the hell do you think they got permission to built al hamra instead of the old cinema , by using lots of vitamin w , and introducing a “new” cinema company

Same company though , just under a diffrent name , they did the same to many old cinema’s like muhalab and salmiya … But because this one is located on a commercial street which generates huge revenue , part of the cover up plan was to make a “new” company , don’t you think its weird how they got the land which costs millions for free and build such a huge ass skyscraper , if they actually followed the rules they wouldnt be able to build something this big

Hahaha, nice Mark! I remember when had informed us about that back when Al Hamra was just a hole in the ground! Some people think they know everything. Maybe he doens’t realize that you research before you publish.

Maybe you don’t realize your only allowed to bulid 920% of the area of your land and thats only achievable with a big wasta …. Al hamra bulit over 1500% … I work in the real estate sector , beileve me everybody who works there nows that most skyscrapers are bugger than theyre supposed to be … Explain to me how the heck does someone get a big peice of land for free , dont say he bought it the gov aren’t allowed to sell to public unless theyre is a big public auction. This applies to many malls and skyscrapers here

is it me or are you not making sense? what does alhamra tower’s height have to do with cinescape trying to hide their identity as grand cinemas?

…and you can finally reserve your seats online for real.
Enjoy their services @ ABC Dbayeh, Lebanon as well!

I really hope they do away with the whole ‘Shabab’ & ‘Family’ section crap. They have nothing in Dubai like that. In both Avenues and 360, the Shabab section is pretty crappily located 🙁

That’s awesome. AlHamra is next to my friends dewaniya in Dasma, 5 minutes away. It will be much easier to go watch a movie there! Time to forget about Cinescape!

Awww poor guys are gonna suffer when i am gonna be sittin next to their gf’s and he will be like can u move your seat and i will be like F O

“Grand Cinemas bans kids in UAE theatres after 7pm
Multiplex also asking for ID proof from teens for 15+ and 18+ films in its 23 megaplexes and 180 screens across UAE”
I hope they do the same here.

Unless they get wide berth screening films of all sorts of genres without edits and cuts the name” Grand” will seem like a misfit. Better to call them “Grand Interrupted Cinemas” or “Almost Grand Cinemas” 🙂

Last time i went 2 the 360 theatre, which is not bad, i got in a fight with the manager because it was managed so bad. another thing, why no popcorn? popcorn and movies go hand in hand.

@Mark: i am sure that they wont put commercials like cinescape…sure they will put trailers and some pepsi/i phone etc..commercials but not the cheap commercials we get at cinescape, so that’s good! 😉

Also, the food also will be different!! 😀

But booking on Cinescape website was always a gr8 experience. Now they have made it more easy. You no more need to carry you bank card. Just a collection number and you get ur tickets.. Kwelllllllll

They were meant to open during Eid Al Fitr holidays; won’t be surprised if they don’t happen before the Eid Al Adha break either. Such is the pace of most projects in Kuwait.
