Long Term Parking at Sheikh Saad Terminal

Since FlyDubai started flying out of the Sheikh Saad Terminal I’ve been getting emails from readers asking if they have long term parking. So I called the airport and found out they do have long term parking but it costs KD5 a day which is more than double the cost of long term parking at the main airport. The reason for this probably has to do with the fact there are a lot less parking spots available at Sheikh Saad Terminal.

Back when the airport was serving Wataniya Airways they had valet service who charged KD1 a day to park your car. An affordable alternative to parking your car yourself. But, I checked and there is no longer any valet service at Sheikh Saad Terminal so long term parking is your only option if you’re planning to take your car.

I was told that there are around 246 parking spaces at this terminal, however, I suspect that includes staff parking. A key perk to utilizing this terminal, besides the fact that it took me (timed) around 15 minutes to check-in and go through security and immigration, is that it is easy to be picked up as a passenger at this terminal. Alot of the headaches of the ‘old’ terminal are successfully corrected at this terminal and a passenger can have a less stressful departure out of Kuwait compared to the ‘old’ terminal.

No doubt the Emirates Terminal is an awesome one, especially the A380 terminal, but Fly Dubai is upgrading Terminal 2 and the portion that is complete is very well done. Eventually this will be an exclusive Fly Dubai Terminal and the other carriers will move to Terminal 4.
P.S. Note they are on Terminal 4!

Why is it terrible? Last month when I arrived there, I was in and out in 5 minutes flat. That’s what I need. I don’t need a mall at an airport.

It’s fine when arriving. However departing from there is a whole other story- crowded, smelly, long lines.

There’s actually a “free” parking option.

When you reach the end of the road and take the slip road right into the paid parking lot slow down and keep left (dont go through the ticket machine gate). On the left there’s a road which takes you to staff parking, but before that there is a small ramp that goes into a desert patch. You can park here without paying. The only drawback is that it’s unshaded, and will probably be blocked off at some point in the future. Most likely when everyone who reads this starts using it šŸ˜›

The only drawback to leaving your car parked for several days in a desert patch far away from witnesses is that it won’t be there when you come back

i went to uae on friday and came back on saturday and paid 5 kd, i saw two free parking options, one which mark has told and another one is to take the u-turn before the miliary gate and you can see an open group to park your car there.

Well we will be parking there in a couple weeks when we fly. I hope that the alternative turns out to be safer to park at then what it sounds.

Update: jan 28,2015
The Rate is now
0.25 kd for first 12 hours
5 kd for first extra day
2 kd per additional day
Pay attention to enter into correct parking as there are 2 and they dont have the aame rate. The first one is 5 kd ler day. Use the second one.

I agree 5 KD / day is a rip-off.
I agree it is a good reason to think twice about flying Fly-Dubai.
It should be put down to 2 KD same as it is at the main terminal.
