I found the apartment I’m living in now by calling the real estate agencies that owned the buildings and asking if they had any vacancies. Two minute phone call, no fees and a lot easier than driving around apartment to apartment asking the rent prices.
That’s the best way to go.

Kuwait is a place of exploiting Expats on rents. The economy is not improving and neither salaries are , but they increase the rents as and when they like. No government regulation also. Atleast Dubai the rents are proportional to the Economy and salaries and they fell during the recession.
I guess we expats should start leaving Kuwait in mass and teach these idiots a lesson for exploiting us.
Not everyone is exploited. I am well-paid and my rent is commensurate with the size and amenities of the apartment. I am a good tenant and the owners want to keep me there. If there is a problem, it is addressed in a timely manner.
