A lot of people complain about how difficult it is to meet people in Kuwait and they’re generally right. But difficult doesn’t mean impossible and there are a number of ways you can go about making new friends and one way is with meetup.com. Although it sounds like a dating site, Meetup is actually a way for groups of people who share similar interests to get together and socialize. Just by visiting the main Meetup home page you will see there are quite a few different meetups taking place in Kuwait ranging from a Toastmasters club to an expats club. So if you’re looking to socialize more check out [Meetup]

I am seriously considering starting a Cinethusiasts club. A club for serious fans of arthouse cinema or just cinema that is not total shit.
What’s wrong with the one in Salmiya?
yup, Cinemagics is a “Cinethusiasts” club of a sort.
I think Tarek from Cinemagic is pretty serious about movies. I don’t know him very well but I based my opinion on my limited interaction with him and Cinemagic’s movie listings.
Ok hold up Mark, Cinemagics is a film-making production house, not a club. It screens awesome films on the side on weekends but their actual line of business is making films/commercials etc, renting out film equipment, what else? Umm…..Tarek, are you there? Little help buddy!
The people who attend the screenings are similar-minded but they should not just come to the screenings then walk out. Some do stick around for a minute or two but most don’t. A cinema club involves mingling, talking, having lengthy discussions about cinema.
They should form a club though, the people who attend the screenings at Cinemagic, that would be fun.
IMO you already have the cinemagic for people to convene around might as well keep it involved with that =D
And yeah they are a film production house but the movies on the roof is sort of a side thing
I don’t see the point of that reply, you’re reiterating what I already said.
This is what I said verbatim.
“They should form a club though, the people who attend the screenings at Cinemagic, that would be fun.”
And,
“Cinemagics is a film-making production house, not a club. It screens awesome films on the side on weekends.”
A lot of people complain about how difficult it is to make friends in England and they’re generally right
Where do people make friends?
How do people make friends?
It’s always raining in England
Depends on where you are in England. I never had any problems befriending people from the Northern parts of England. They generally are very, very sweet people. You just want to give all of them a big group hug.
Joining clubs, or religious congregations, is a sure-fire way to meet people. Enrolling in classes is another. I met many life-long friends that way, especially for some reason, the religious congregations I was a part of.
You can always just walk up to people and speak to them too. You’ve got nothing to lose.
Hi, I’m Gabriel.
I just arrived in Kuwait. I only have one day off per week but want to make the most of my stay. I’m interested in meeting new people, riding horses, camels going out to eat or just hanging out.
