Snapchat Live from Kuwait Tomorrow

Snapchat will be broadcasting Kuwait live tomorrow (Thursday) for the whole world to see. Last time they broadcasted Ahmadi which turned out to be so bad it was funny but, from what I understand this time all of Kuwait can participate. I haven’t been on Snapchat for over three months now since I’m so over it but I’m actually tempted to get back on it tomorrow and just snapchat all the overflowing garbage behind my house.

screw you. One day you call kuwait your country the nexf you want to contribute to ruining its reputation “…tempted to snapchat all the overflowing garbage…” Really? Even if it was sarcasm that is beyond low. It can’t get more immature than that. You don’t deserve what this country gave you.

kuwait is the only country i’ve ever felt at home at. despite all the things that go on here that i disagree with, those feelings will never go away. but, to get the ball moving on something in this country is such a fucking pain in the ass. there’s nothing wrong with wanting to live in a clean neighborhood and it’s obvious there are some things (like insufficient bins) that prevent that from happening in mark’s neighborhood. i’m not saying that people aren’t partly to blame but there is obviously a problem.

perhaps embarassing the nation is the only way to actually get people off their fucking asses to implement a proper system with fines for littering and large availability of bins etc. enforce these rules for the locals as well as the expats. perhaps his snapchat will show up on the daily mail one day and if it does, we know for sure these guys are gonna do whatever it takes to restore their honor. i mean, let’s be real, do you think that if that whole pilot incident had not been all over the media he’d be in as much trouble as he is in now? they’d probably be laughing about it, over a sheesha, at the nearest diwaniya.

Pretending that nothing is wrong or that nothing needs improving is the perfect way to stop change from happening. It’s a shame you see things the way you do, if you were as interested in improving Kuwait as you were in trying to convince me that I’m ‘shaming’ Kuwait, things would be different.

There is a lot that Kuwait needs to fix but these snapchat stories are usually about the good things not the bad. Did you edit your post because of this guys comment or was that never there?

I understand that you’re frustrated with the trash issue and many many other issues with Kuwait but snapchat (let alone the worldwide story) isn’t the right medium to try and bring change about.

I’m starting to find it odd that I’m the only one here who seems to care about Kuwait and want to see it get better. Everyone else seems to have given up.

no they haven’t givrn up. They’re finally opening their eyes and thinking. Your influence is no longer as strong as it was. They are realizing that you don’t want the best for Kuwait. They finally know that all you are is a pathetic immature selfish guy who has been whining ALOT lately. These “tips” aren’t for Kuwait and its people. They are for you and only you so you can live comfortably. I will repeat what many people have said before me. If you don’t like it, leave.

Yeah that comment was lame as fuck… Snapchat the garbage FOR WHO? Snapchat? They gon clean it up?

Pathetic comment on your behalf Mark, the snapchat live feeds are for the positives of a country and not the negatives. No country is perfect and to publicly try to humiliate it for your personal gain ( “behind my house” ) is disrespectful.

You know whats pathetic? This > https://248am.com/images/2015/08/garbage2.jpg

I took this picture 5 minutes ago. You know how long this garbage problem has existed? YEARS and YEARS. Just go through my archive and see for yourself how far back this goes. https://248am.com/?s=garbage

At one point they even dug a hole and were just filling it up with trash instead of supplying the neighborhood with enough garbage bins to fix the issue. https://248am.com/mark/kuwait/hole-full-of-garbage/

And it’s not like I’ve just been just posting about this issue without doing anything about it. Behind the scenes I’ve been in contact with a number of people over the years to try and get this issue sorted and nothing has changed. NOTHING. In fact I just got an email today which I should probably share on the blog showing you the kind of responses I’ve been getting from the people in charge regarding the garbage issue.

So if you want you can continue to live in these conditions and keep telling yourself no country is perfect, or instead you could choose to fight and make Kuwait better. I’ve chosen the later and I would recommend you do the same instead of giving up on your country.

I fully understand where you’re coming from, but snapchatting it isn’t the best option. It will do more harm than good to the country honestly, which is obviously not your goal. Right now we should give the best picture of our country as possible to hopefully promote awareness of its existence/tourism (longshot).

I think it will actually do more good than harm. Maybe the right person will see it and realize that hey, we’ve got a problem here

Dude, instead of just trying to justify what you said and excusing Kuwaiti’s on giving up on their own country. Just retract your comment. I get you want the whole garbage issue fixed and everything but to even think about publicly humiliating MY country, thats going over the line. You want something done you personally go to who ever is in charge of the situation and talk to him not just call people thinking its going to get fixed. Also this garbage issue isnt happening everywhere in Kuwait and i am sure a couple of years ago they weren’t as much garbage cans as their are now in your area so dont say no one is doing nothing about it. Just adding more bins wont solve this problem, the proper way of solving it is to lower your garbage usage, some countries in the world only have a weekly garbage pick up and not a daily one just like Kuwait. I personally think that people should learn if a garbage is already full dont throw more garbage in it, wait till the next day.

I understand you’re upset because its embarrassing for you that people around the world will find out about Kuwait’s garbage issue, but after five years of trying to get this issue sorted out, this is my last hope.

On a side note though, if you think the only place in Kuwait that has a garbage issue is behind my house, then you should probably take a drive around salmiya, hawally, jleeb, farwaniya, al-rai, shuwaikh and a bunch of other areas once in a while for a bit of enlightening.

I’m sure it’s going to be better than the Ahmadi one if its all over Kuwait. Just wish it was during better weather.

About the garbage snap… At first I was kinda pissed. But after reading ur comments I think that it’s not a bad idea. Publicly shaming and humiliation, kinda like tough love in this situation.

This message to everyone who has an issue with my snap chatting the garbage.

The issue here isn’t me snap chatting the garbage which is what some of you are turning this conversation into. The issue here is the garbage itself and if you find it embarrassing, then maybe you should realize that there is a problem that needs fixing instead of looking the other way.

In any case, I’m done arguing with people who are fine living in garbage. I’m tired of trying to convince people that trash on the streets and overflowing garbage isn’t something normal. I’m closing this post for comments.
