Hey Mark, just thought you might want to fix the schedule for the Shashooka event.
It mentions Friday 30 Jan 2014.
It should be 31 Jan, thought this might confuse some people.

thanks for the effort

There is an open house event Saturday, open to the public at Ali Al Salem Air Base, from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

There will be aircraft, vehicles, even navy vessels displayed along with demonstrations by various military organizations including military working dogs. I haven’t heard anything about an air show, maybe there will be Kuwaiti aircraft flying, I am not sure.

People wanting to attend will need to enter the Kuwaiti Main Gate entrance to the base, there will be buses provided for transportation to the flight line. They will depart from the KAF Dining Facility all day.

Here is the schedule
0800 Dancing Horse Show
0815 Military Working Dog Demonstration
0855 KAF Band
0910 Military Working Dog Demonstration
0950 Dancing Horse Show
1005 KAF Band
1020 Military Working Dog Demonstration
1100 Dancing Horse Show
1115 Military Working Dog Demonstration
1230 Dancing Horse Show
1245 Military Working Dog Demonstration
1325 KAF Band
1345 Military Working Dog Demonstration
1425 Dancing Horse Show

EOD Robots, Interactive Displays, and Aircraft will be available all day

Looking at your event page for Remal Sand sculpting festival with the elaborate details which was very good, but we landed there yesterday (Saturday 1st Feb) after travelling all the way from Ahmadi and it was closed, the security person said after two days it would open, but I dont think so. The whole thing has been a disappointment for me and my kids.

Hey, yes someone else had the same issue. The dates were taken from their Facebook page announcement but I just checked now and they’ve removed their previous announcement graphic and replaced it with another one with a new date. They didn’t post a retraction or update or anything, instead just swapped it out for a new date without telling anyone. I’m sorry you travelled all the way for nothing, no one from their side contacted me to update me on the change of the opening date and so my guess is a lot of people ran into the same issue as you.

What I will do from now is add a little note at the bottom of the events page informing people to always check the event website page for any changes in the schedule.

I really like that you listed things todo in the weekend. Usually we dont know whats happening and no where to find out. I really hope you can make it a weekly post if possible or maybe monthly.
