Truefitt & Hill is the oldest barbershop in the world established back in 1805 in London, and they recently opened their first location in the Middle East at Symphony Mall. Their prices surprisingly are fairly reasonable, similar to other local barbershops with a haircut costing KD10 and a shave KD5. For some reason I was expecting them to charge a lot more since in London a shave costs around KD12 and a haircut around KD20. Thats double the price of Kuwait.

10KD for a haircut at a local place? That seems extremely expensive considering my local places charge 2KD here in Kuwait and $20-30 in the US.
Not everyone wants to cut their hair at the Pakistani barber down the street. Some people like going to nicer places and some of those places charge KD10.
I’m just razing you. It is stunning that some labor intensive services can cost so much in the land of cheap labor. 2KD espresso drinks for instance… Corporate coffee is probably the highest profit food service in town. Does Kuwait have an authentic US barbershop? The kind where the guy cutting your hair owns the place, shaves are done with a straight razor and strap, your shoes are shined, and you are welcome to hang out and watch sports or talk politics till you have to get on with your day. They are a dying institution back home and being replaced by “man spas” masquerading as barber shops 😉
Yeah they’re basically the Pakistani barber shops here, I think those closely work similar in style to the US ones.
There used to be am African American barbershop called Lion’s Den in Fintas, but I don’t know if they are still open. This place was just like what you find in the the US. Each stall was rented by an African American. Infact when you walked in you felt like you were back in the US.
Labor is cheaper than in the UK, so you’re saving a little, but they’ll probably charge an arm and a leg for the T&F product lines retailed there.
