Tunnel Tagged

After around a hundred volunteers got together to clean up and repaint the Jabriya/Rumaithiya tunnel last week, someone tagged it again. That didn’t take very long.

As i said in my Last comment on your previous post about this tunnel , i already knew that someone will start doing this again ! i have grown old with this tunnel since 20 years i can predict whats gonna happen after 6 months…!

I live right next to the tunnel and we initiated the first gov’t repainting a year ago i was frankly surprised it didnt get tagged overnight they should have invested in a couple of fake cameras maybe that would have done the trick

Updates came in it was done on purpose by the team themself to raise attention. Sorry but it’s true. Thats because I was there 🙂

That is NOT true.

I am a member of the team. In no way would we seek attention post-project by ruining the work of +250 people.

Get attention on what exactly?

The purpose of the project is to beautify a public place used by hundreds of pass byers of different ages for different purposes DAILY – and to do it as a community project to allow for a sense of ownership by every participant.

It is a community project. Every member of the organizing team understands they have no right to revoke the work of 250 people.

I have no idea who you were with while tagging the tunnel – but it is not true that they are one of the organizers.

The tunnel renovation was a lot of work. It took weeks of planning and meticulous work was done on the day. People worked with care to the smallest of details.

Spare us the rumors, will you?

Tunnels will get tagged – even with security present. Instead of cleaning it up, they should keep it as a open canvas for aspiring artists to practice on.
