Today morning on my way to work I noticed there was a demonstration outside the House of Parliament. I don’t know what they are demonstrating but I hope they are trying to legalize alcohol.

should be read: the government is smarter than parlimentary morons, knows that this loan thing is just plain dumb, especially since a ‘detailed bill’ will only have the words ‘daddy we bought too much’ as its main body of text, oh and the government generally cant be bothered cos the amirs got his xmass shopping to do.

ur wrong, take the $200,000,000 back from yemen, take the monthly free 750,000 barrels per month back from jordan worth god knows how many millions, and give it to kuwaiti citizens, i prefer that

gas stations yes.. thats something we miss in the land of oil.. if you got no gas in your car.. and i mean nothing zero.. you have one chance to take the right exit to the gas station or else.. you are fucked.. I’ve been in Kuwait for 4 years now.. i have called my friends to get me some gas more then 8 times.. thats ones every 6 month.. “khaskhasa” is the key..

Mark the government has the money for both, for building hospitals, zoos, gas stations, etc. improving the country, that is; AND giving money out to citizens. Problem is, they do neither. Our government is acting as a mommy for all the other countries, taking care of their facilities and paying less attention to the inside. Paying the citizens could be made in a good way other than just giving it out, for instance raising the salaries, etc. Qatar just raised all the citizen’s salaries by %40, so for every 1000 kd they get an extra 400 kd, now thats something. Both me and you know that Kuwait has 1000x times money as qatar has.

Im with sknk.. the money that is financed to these countries isnt given without a lot of strings tied to it.. If you dont know the whole picture then you cant make a judgement on that money..
Secondly removing all debts is probably the worst thing you could do for the Kuwait financial system. There were a lot of lies regarding that bill, and made up facts so its complete farce to get people out of their debts when they should be paying it, some of the loans I hear people taking for rediculous items and these people should be held accountable! When you take a loan you should be aware of everything and ask.. Their are certain rights protecting people, and the government cant protect people from being idiots..
and if they dont like normal loans please take loans from islamic loans and they can see wear that gets them!
people here are soo stuck in the moment that they don’t know that the whole thing if settled as they want will make the country’s economy suffer badly in the future
plus if they really wanted their debts to be paid they shouldn’t’ have taken loans to begin with, I mean not every body needs a Lamborgini, numeric Prada bags and a vacation in europe every freaking summer
no wonder we’re spoiled here & enough with the increasing the salaries, in case you haven’t notice prices will be going through the roof

actually, I just found out that the demostration out of the parliament is about some kinda new implementation of a rule that says that 30% of the taxi drivers of a private taxi company must be Kuwaiti. Kinda like implementing affirmative action if you asked me. The Kuwaitis over there are owners of various taxi services that dont want this bill to be passed because it will hurt their businesses.
stop bitching all governments have lots of money and they give more to poor countries than Kuwait including the united states yet we don’t see them crying about drooping loans…. god we’re so stupid!!!!!! and they actually think someone will listen to there BS….
well, if the government pays off everyone debts what do I get?! I don’t take any loans. Instead, they should invest in more important things such as schools and the messed up roads.
And yet there are expat workers in kuwait that get 40 dinars a month salary. I met a chinese worker that was doing construction who got 20 dinars a month…talk about low salaries. Sad.
Our economy is a fucking joke, our excess petro dollars find their way into US treasuries, keeping yields low and financing the US consumer with cheap money for them to binge on emerging market exports from China.
