I have been waiting for the MacBook for what seems forever. My first laptop ever was an iBook (G3 700mhz) and I was really hoping the MacBook would be similar just better. So how much better is it really? Looking at this iBook vs MacBook comparison chart it seems by a lot. [Link]

I went to have a look at the new Macbook and i was a bit disapointed with what i saw. I hated the new screen !! it reflects everything behind me and the black macbook doesnt look soo good because its mat its not the shiny plack which i think would have looked much better
plack = black 😛
I saw the Link … and i have to say, i don’t know what the difference is .. inno yeah sure ore processor power, more space, better resolution, more line outs.. especially the Optical Digital Audio,oh and Isight i think that’s cool, I think the 13″ Macbook Pro is a pimped up version of teh iBook, people who are getting it aren’t going to use it for things they weren’t doing on the Ibook. But that’s my opinion i never used a MAC before.. please someone tell me how someone who already owns an Ibook can benefi from the 13″ Mac Book pro
dude you alone just on the top of your head mentioned like 6 benefits. I will mention you my top benefits.
– Monitor Spanning
– Up to 2GB of Ram
– User replaceable Hard drive
– higher screen resolution
what i hate
– glossy screen
– larger sized laptop compared to the 12inch
Also the 13inch is just a MacBook and the 15inch and 17inch are a MacBook Pro. I also dont think there is anything u could do on the new MacBooks you couldnt do on the older iBooks. Hell I could do everything I am doing on my Dual 2Ghz G5 PowerMac at work on my crappy old clamshell I sold yesterday.. I just do it slower 🙂
hey guys i think if you want to design anything on anything thats up to you but the only dif. is the speed, as Mark said “I also dont think there is anything u could do on the new MacBooks you couldnt do on the older iBooks.” i could do the same with my old PIII…
but to tell you the truth i think Mac Power is action i got the iMac G5 fully loaded and it is ACTION…. and what do i need more…
maybe some extra ram… 😛
Hey Mark how come ur not getting a MacBook Pro?? It looks like it has much better technical specifications.
anyone see the accident in the city today?
http://www.tsunimon.blogspot.com has a pic, nice safety standards we have
out of the subject , does anyone know a place where i can find Packaging templates ( plain tamplets ) so i can design over it such as Box and stuff.. i found http://www.arcamagica.com/ but they dont offer Downloading when you order..
lol ACTION.. thats a nice way of putting it.
eddy: If I was looking for a primary computer I would probably go with the MacBook Pro (maybe) but what I am looking for is a secondary computer. My primary computer is my PowerMac at home. I just need a second portable computer for web surfing and minor stuff like that.
Anon thats fucked up
im thinking of getting a Mac Book pro… and using dual boot for XP or OSX…
im hoping its stable though.. and I can use a two button external mouse for when i boot into XP/Vista
Anon: i totaly agree with you on that for me as im getting used to the iMac OSX for my designs and XP for my games (you name it) i just neeeeed that baby…
the NEW ACTION Mac-Book but at least 17’inch wide or the DeskTop 21’inch…
i’ll call that ACTION to the POWER of 2…
i cant help it, am gameholick… 😛
One benefit well in comparison to the Macbook Pro is that the battery is supposed to last 6 hours, a bit longer than the macbook pro’s 4.5hours. So that should be a selling point.
It looks awesome, but then again I need to see it live in order to judge, nothing looks as its picture. Hell I dont look like any of my pictures 😛
Btw, Late this summer I believe or Mid-Summer new operating system Leopard is due out to replace Tiger, so waiting for a month or two would guarantee you a pre-installed version on your Mac 😛 Don’t you think?
yeah if you guys want some windows videogame action its better to go with the Pro series since the regular MacBook wont be able to handle your games. I just hope I can play Red Alert Aftermath on it 🙂
I read Leopard is coming out early 2007, not summer 2006. Anyway even though it comes out next year I can still install it on my Mac..
I just checked and found a page on Wikipedia about 10.5 and this is what it says:
“Steve Jobs stated during his keynote speech on June 6, 2005 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that Apple intended to release Leopard at the end of 2006 (when Microsoft at that time was planning on releasing Windows Vista) or early 2007 (the new release time for Vista to consumers).”
