A completely random but interesting fact, I recently found out the beautifully designed Kuwait Embassy in Japan (pictured above) was designed by the same legendary architect behind the original Kuwait Airport, Kenzo Tange. The building was built in 1966, 13 years before the Kuwait Airport.

the building looks classic, but the idea looks latest.
Usually with good design it lasts a lot longer. If you check out this link

You can see pictures of the original kuwait airport. it would still look great today if they had kept it the way it was originally designed.
What happened? Why did they change it??
Love it! Would seek it out if ever Iam in japan
its sad how the vision was there and now u see the airport turn into a supermarket / mall!
wish kuwait still has “men” that take action and keep building this country and thrive
instead of sucking it to death
there are (trade)men 😉
This is what pisses me off, the badly-planned redesigns that usually gets done without consulting the original company with the result of having a crappy looking, corrupted designes. Kuwait Airport could’ve been redesigned or renewed moderately, and as you mentioned it looked way better before.
kinda like whats happening now with the ugly house of parliament extension
