I received the following email from jetblast2k:
Hi Mark, we usually know our aircrafts by their tail number, but today I noticed the nickname of 9K-ANC, an A340-300 of KAC, and took this shot for you. Check the [Link]
I was surprised to find out that Kuwait Airways planes had nicknames and I was really surprised to find out that one is called Miskan (although they spell it Meskan). Next time I fly with KA I will try to find out the nickname of the plane I am going to be flying with. If you have never seen the pictures taken by jetblast2k you should since he has some really wonderful stuff. [Link]
Note: For those of you who don’t know, Miskan is a photography project I currently involved in. [Link]

Do you believe you can fly?
KA sucks, passengers stink, service is atrocious, plane interiors are dated, seats are awful, entertainment is poor…
Case closed, i vowed not to fly KA a long time ago… 🙂
Note, this is not a reflection on the pilots, they have the coolest job in the world! Rock on!
I try to fly KA whenever I can. I love the food, I love the service, I love the nintendo available at every seat!
I haven’t flown with KA recently, last time was 4 years ago so I don’t know how their service is at the moment. I do hear a lot of crappy stuff though.
hehehe nintendo is classic, shame they have it down as “cutting edge entertainment”, dude that was like 10 years ago…
Rock on Duck Hunt! haha
4 years ago I didnt have a gameboy, or a psp or a DS so the only entertainment i had travelling to kuwait and lebanon was the inflight movies. then they stopped playing movies so the only entertainment i had left was the inseat nintendo.
now though i dont think inflight entertainment plays as much as an important role for me specially in a 2 hour flight. I wouldnt mind free internet access though.
I was on a domestic American Airlines flight and an Emirates one from Dubai to JFK, guess what… they had Wifi on the plane! expensive though!
do you happen to know how much it cost?
KA palnes always had nicknames
if you search old kuwaiti news you would find that they talk about Airplane Kazma kidnapping
and after the invasion the 747 that carried the Emir back had “Jabriya” as its nickname.
