If the Salmiya Park ends up looking anything like the picture above then I’ll be spending most of my time in there hanging out with my dog. I am guessing it’s going to be an animal friendly park since other than the mall, museum, restaurants etc.. there is also going to be a veterinary clinic. Will it also smell like raw sewage at low tide ?
wonders why they didn’t mention a starting nor a finish date !!!
it’s because it’s never going to be finished!
Looks too good to be true, if you ask me! Waiting to see the end result and timeline for it!
It’s a private sector project so end result should be good. Construction started in 2009 I think
isnt the boulevard was being built there?
Salmiya Park is the Boulevard mate. ๐
Like you’ll be able to walk your dog without little kids following you and shouting “how how”.
Qster which era u still stuck in? Seems like u had a great time shouting how how !!
sigh
Ever since they unveiled that this will be a park area with a shopping mall(a couple of years ago), I have been wondering where is everyone going to park their cars???????????? Inside the park on the grass?????
Ya so all the families that’ll go there for weekends will do a good job taking care of it like they do for salmiya beach.
they stop the work for 2 months…the owner have no more money.only paper work is done now.they cancel a gorgeous botanical garden and replace with a building.the original design was great….we don’t know how will look at the end.i hope ,at least, not to cancel the train track ๐
owner has no money … ha xD
The veterinary clinic has also been cancelled and the work has now been stopped for 3 months.
If they would of had even more room to build this, they could have put in an overhead cable car system like at that nice park in Dubai! Or even better, made something like Memorial Park in Houston and move the zoo within walking distance.
How many Veterinary clinics are there in Kuwait?
3 or 4 vet clinics i believe.
They even have a cricket stadium going to be built in ! So its focusing more on expats !
Another pipe dream…..Why doesn’t anyone care about the status of living in Kuwait? This is an ideal, much needed project for Kuwait, but why do I think it is another ‘inshallah’ project.
The project was proposed and approved before the economic crisis. Several other companies went bankrupt and their projects were either on hold or going at an extremely slow pace, let alone other projects that were completely cancelled. Drive downtown and take a look at all the projects that were supposed to be finished years ago. What else do you want them to do?
Artificial pond with poor maintenance = breeding ground for larve n mosquitoes
What about the traffic.
As it is, the area is witnessing lots of traffic from Jawazat Roundabout, City Center and Salem al Mubarak Street..
Where would all the cars fit?
I don’t see green space. All I see is buildings.
