‘Shredded Diesel’ Makes the Daily Mail

dielsel

The Daily Mail have published an article on the popular Kuwaiti bodybuilder ‘Shredded Diesel’. I used to come across his photos on instagram often and thought he was just another musclehead, but turns out he’s actually a personal trainer and has worked with the likes of Timbaland, Madonna and Justin Timberlake. One interesting thing in the article is that he encourages taking candy after workouts. It sounds a bit iffy but I’m probably going to research it a bit more after this post and see if that means I can have my favorite chocolate after the gym. Anyway check out the article with loads of photos on the Daily Mail website [Here]

What’s your favorite chocolate? Mine is Max Brenner, Equal Exchange 70% chocolate & Perungotti also 70%. It’s a shame I can’t get any of these here. Equal Exchange can be found in organic food coops across America, Perungotti is Italian and Max Brenner comes from The Country That Shall Not Be Mentioned.

As a chocoholic, I’m always curious know what people’s favourites are. I think you can tell a lot about a person by what kind of chocolate they like.

the simple carb( aka chocolate/sweets etc) after a work out are meant to stop your body from producing lactic acid which slows down recovery and makes your muscles feel bloated. Check out the Chocolate milk routine, where it is recommended to drink one before and one after a workout.

I will keep this short and for everyone to understand. Glucose, SIMPLE SUGAR, is the best thing one can take post workout. It causes insulin spikes, thus induce protein synthesis( creates muscles, initiate recovery.) When people such shredded say candy, he means simple sugar candy such as gummy bears, gummy worms etc. Check the nutrition label and make sure it has only carbs in it. No fats (such as in chocolates), that’s the biggest mistake people do when they hear the word candy. Also dont over do it, 25-40 grams of gummy bears are more than enough, dont go above that unless your big as this guy.

BS Thats why Gatorade is ideal post workout, because it is made out of simple sugar and water only.
