20 Laziest Countries in the World… guess who’s #7

According to Forbes, Kuwait is the 7th laziest country in the world. But, on the bright side, Saudi Arabia came in third so at least we’re not the worst in the region. [Link]

Japan? How did Japan get on this list? Ask Patrick, the Japanese remain very active in their later years and live a long life.

We are not lazy. This is probaganda promoted by the.private sector and wealthy families so they justify hiring cheap labour from abroad.

Kuwaitis in the government sector dont work because they do not recieve appropriate training and guidance. Their government body management is usualky the same wealthy people with private businesses. They hold those.positions not to serve their country, but rather to insure that their companies paper work and related issues at the government get done even if its against the law.

Kuwaiti people are hard working people. They havr migrated from all around thr world to settle in a country that had no fresh water resourcrs, no agriculture, nothing. They relied on God and them selves to work hard, earn money, and provide to themselves and their families.

I disagree with your last part. I dont think Kuwaitis are really hard working people, because they dont generally try to improve their working habits and/or protest to improve their working habits. Instead we see protests for more money and less work.

They used to be hard working during the pearl diving and fishing days. So whats a motivation for Kuwaitis to work hard? Being poor and hungery.

This is my honest perception over the years. No offence intended.

Kuwaiti people are lack of motivation. Look at people with their own business they really work hard, the reason? because they love what they do

I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to disagree completely with you. If someone has ambition to work, he will work. In Kuwait, there is no incentive to work hard. Kuwaitis are guaranteed job security and regular pay raises without putting any in effort. Why work harder, especially when 90% of your colleagues aren’t.

The justification for hiring cheaper foreign labor is in the fact that foreigners do work hard and are held accountable for their actions. If they don’t work hard, they lose their job and have to leave Kuwait. If a Kuwaiti doesn’t work hard, he keeps his job because he can’t get fired.

good work .
we need to keep the good effort and hopefully we make number 1 next time.
at least we can say we are good in something .
hehehehe

I think we can make number by next year if just try to do a little less work, add in a few more holidays, increace salories a bit more, and increace traffic. Shouldnt be too hard to do.

Does inactivity translate to being lazy .. i dont think so
what i know is being lazy leads to overweight

Fact : i almost didn’t see any fat people in japan!

and how could the UK be on the same list

i am pretty sure their working hours are much longer than us

unless they are counting office work as inactivity!

I’m surprised we’re not in the top 3. Here people just sit in their cars outside a bakala, restaurant or laundry and honk non-stop till they get service 🙂

Look at the number of countries included in the survey. Kuwait would definitely be lower on the list if ALL countries were included. As lazy as I know Kuwait to be, I find 7th place to be a stretch.

Most of u Guys are surprised that we weren’t #1 on this list. How about improvement and try to clear our lovely country name off this ridiculous list?

LOL trips to restaurants and fast food dives, diwaniya nights, cruising love street, going to football matches and following girls at the mall and taking your help to renew visas kept you guys from getting #1. Kill all that and I think you got it.
