20 speeding tickets?!?! +1

I am traveling tomorrow to Beirut for 3 nights so I was just checking moi.gov.kw to see if I have a travel ban and while I was there decided to check on my speeding tickets. I was hoping they had miraculously disappeared but instead I was greeted with a new amount, KD680. Since the last time I checked another ticket got added to the system and its dated October 31st. This is a good sign because in October and November my average speed was higher than the rest of the year so 1 ticket for October is good and now I am hoping November isn’t going to be bad. I’ve been looking for wasta to solve my tickets issue since I heard without wasta I will most likely serve jail time and although that sounds really fun I currently can’t fit it into my schedule.

While at the MOI website I decided to check out other things like my car insurance. Turns out I have two cars and a bike registered under my name that have expired insurance. My car I found out about last week but the other car and my bike I didn’t know about. I don’t even know what the other car is actually, the Wrangler is in Nat’s name. Weird.

Anyway I still can’t figure out how to check if I have a travel ban. I guess I will find out tomorrow.

Mark,

I have a feeling that you r taking this very catually !! Speeding is one thing , but doing it with a vehicle without insurance is out of mind !! Any accident & you are totally liable ! Sorry to say this but this is very very irresponsible.I hope everybody out there checks his/her car or bike registration & make sure of the validity !! for your bike call TriStar . They have a service for renewing bike registrations. Meanwhile please do not ride or drive ( None Kuwaities can face de-portation for serious repeating Traffic Violations )

jojo I stopped driving my car the day I found out my insurance had finished. I already went and renewed it and now am just waiting to pay my tickets so i can renew my car papers. I have been riding my bike but i didnt know it had expired also.

Mark, I would say stop by the airport for lunch and go to the MOI counter on the right side of departure immigration entrance and get it checked that what I did to find if I had any travel ban on me. Good Luck

im not saying thats ur case..but, one of y teachers here in sitzerland had taught at BSK (british school of kuwait) for 3 years, and he was talking to me about all the experiences. he did mention that at one point where had to leave kuwait for emergency, he had locked his car in the building’s garage, and no one had spare keys … but as he was away, he had 1300 something kd worth of fines. he was umm…PISSED…but eventually, he got some wasta and proved that he was not in the country and took them off..they were stupid stuff that he wouldnt have done anyways, he is one SLOW driver…red light?? parking?? 60km excess speed ?? anyways..once again im just thinking…if u really dont know where they have come from, and u dont think they are yours ? (im not getting into an government issues) but, we do have some corruption 😛

i was browsing on the site, you can check your traffic violations thru civil id and the other one is more specific because you are prompted to enter your vehicle plate number. but how come i don’t have any violations on this site: https://eservices2.moi.gov.kw/2005design/EngMOIEservices.nsf/Services?OpenFrameSet&Frame=Main&Src=%2F2005design%2FEngMOIEservices.nsf%2FEngViolPlate%3FOpenForm%26AutoFramed

but on this one, i have: https://eservices2.moi.gov.kw/2005design/EngMOIEservices.nsf/Services?OpenFrameSet&Frame=Main&Src=/2005design/EngMOIEservices.nsf/EngViolationIndividual?OpenForm&AutoFramed

strange????

The site which you have to enter your plate number doesn’t apply to new plates, so I think all are registered now on the newer site (the second one).
