Yesterday someone emailed me and asked me if I had heard about what happened on the 5th Ring Road and today morning someone at the office also asked me the same thing. What I understood is that a guy pulled out a gun on his wife and they had to stop traffic. Anyone know what really happened? (if there was actually an incident)
Update: Its in some of the papers including Al Rai where the picture above was taken from. Here is the link to the article. [News Article]

Can someone please explain in English for non-arabs? Thx 🙂
OMG… Please read the comments on the side in the article in Al Rai.. Those people are complete and utter retards. They are blaming this dude’s insanity on a “magic spell” that his new wife cast on him. Hahahahahahahahahah… ROFL. Someone call Harry Potter, only he can help now.
ahh…please ignore^^ (reminds herself to click link before blabbering)
One of my workers was acctually at Hawalli Immigration Department on Fifth Ring Road. He saw the whole thing happen in front of his eyes. So the story that is in the news paper is not correct 100%. The truth is a car pull over next to the Hawalli Immigration Department in front of the people waiting outside since it was packed inside and out. Yes there was a women in the car, but the guy got out of the car with his semi-automatic (i guess, but not a gun) and he was shouting in the air. A police guy aproched him and tried to talk to him, but the guy pushed the police guy on the floor and run back to the car and left on th fifth ring road, while he was leaving the police arrived and went after him. So maybe after they got him he said something about his women.
holy shit wtf ….they also found a body in Jlib with no head …wtf is wrong with people …specially in ramadan

they should have shot the guy who was brandeshing the gun at everybody.. police are useless in kuwait.
I remember watching with awe a few months ago.. a guy pulled out a knife in a basketball match on kuwait tv.. there were police and quwaat khasa of some sort.. all pleading with him for some reason instead of wrestling him to the floor. imagine that!!!
if someone takes out a gun and points it at police or anyone else.. the police should shoot, then talk and ask questions later.
Where is the authority everyone is supposed to respect?
After the only incident the police showed that they were not spineless (the time when they where standing up to tribal violence and lawlessness during the intikhabaat), after that .. maalhom 7iss.
Cops actually negotiate with a hostage taker anywhere in the world. What are you talking about?? Shoot him?? The police are not a death squad! Plus the dude is mentally ill and needs help not death. Far be it for me to defend Kuwaiti cops (or any cops for the matter), but they acted calmly and properly. All this without any training worth shit, and without a hostage negotiator.
You sure they were not filming a Kuwaiti drama? 😛
Kuwait unlike the US isn’t a place where the cops are all trigger happy rednecks.
lol, he says shoot him like its 7alaw or something you buy off a baqala. These law officers cannot and will not SHOOT the civlian until an attempted shot is fired towards any member of the police force. And the shot must always be at a non fatal region, unless its a ‘take down’ mission, where the public is UNDER CURRENT THREAT that MUST cause death (not could, MUST), this way they will still shoot the offender at a non fatal region, unless an order have been passed for the offender to be taken down.
This is what pisses me off, uneducated kuwaities that just CRAVE to spit out their 2 cents provided they causes some turbelence down here.
Stupid Agaad…..always giving Kuwait a bad name.
The idiot should have been shot, one less mentalist in Kuwait is better in my book.
You dont go shooting people you retards just cause he is facing psychological problems. None of the European countries are allowed to brandish a gun against citizens. this is where the role of a negotiator comes into play. It seems that you are watching too many american series.
Can’t find it in the Kuwait English dailies – surprise surprise…..
Omg .. whats happening to the people ??
well i heard about this and from what i understood is that this guy did this at around 7am yesterday .What he did is take his wife beside bayan palace and started shooting at the palace and threatened to shoot his wife when he was asked why he was doing this he simply replied “9aagat feeneee ildinyaa” which means that he felt depressed due to some issues he faced. as police captains approached him he shot near them and ordered them to sit down and stuff . then as they were “luring” him to stop this nonsense and give in to the police he took his car and ran away but then he got caught and now he is being interrogated by the police
i hope this helped mark 🙂
hmm .. people having guns at ease!
and according to alwatan tv he had just (about a week ago) married his egyptian wife
holding a gun at a hostage that you threaten to kill and have unloaded at least one round at a police officer that he just pushes to the ground.. Tell me isn’t the police supposed to be incontrol of the situation???
any police around the world have authority and do act upon it to shoot the man dead, because the intention is to keep hostage safe not criminal who already shot at police. Secondly they usually bring in hostage negotiators when they dont think they can takeout hostage taker without harming hostage…
if u wanna get into details guys… Talk some sense for f’s sake.
When a criminal shoots at least one round from a gun, by the books it is an intent to kill, that is how of is treated around the world. If he didn’t pull the trigger it would be a different story. Police dont wait until a hostage is killed.
I think mark should do a piece on the lack of common sense in Kuwait!!
Obviously some government school graduates here are thinking at full compasity!! LOL
Let me make it easier for you…. When a person is holding you hostage with a gun at your head, youre telling me that if you manage to kill him out of self defence you will be prosecuted because you didn’t negotiate with him????
the police are there to rescue you or him???
Hahahaha….what a load of dunce replies on here!
The rabid dog had a gun, you know a small black thing that shoots deadly bits of metal….It’s not like he *could be* innocent right?
He was waving a gun around. The agaad deserved to be shot dead for being an idiot in a public place.
And besides, this is Kuwait, since when did we give a shit about compassion and negotiation? Lol
pfffft ….. another day another dollar ……
Ok here is how I see it
Hellraiser, bobdair & Frankie all 3 of you got valid points and are absolutely correct Cops around the world and even here in Kuwait never use Lethal Force unless the lives of the public or themselves are considered to be in Immenent danger. That too the order needs to be sanctioned by a higher authority. In most cases especially here in Kuwait its quite rare to see a shoot out like one would see every other day in the States. There are exceptions of course .. I take you back to the shoot out a couple of years ago in Hawally where two brave police officers were killed and one was injured by terrorists.
Here is the contrast ….. 🙂
I agree with sfsa78 also …when push comes to shove who do the cops protect ?? The crazy nut with the gun or the poor innocent hostage in his grasp. I wouldnt be surprised had it come to it; the way he was holding the gun in the pic at her waist level a sniper with Kuwait SWAT could have easily taken him out. The fact that he surrendered or got way makes him lucky.
Back to Hellraiser & bobdair considering what Teeman and MeesharG
said on the subject assulting a police captain at the Hawally Immigratiion & shooting at them?? forget that … SHOOTING AT SECURITY NEAR THE BAYAN PALACE?? WHERE THE AMIR OF KUWAIT OR GOD KNOWS HOW MANY OTHER XTREMELY IMPORTANT PEOPLE OR DELEGATES ARE AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT ?? Its a wonder he survived and stayed breathing… If this sceneario happened in the States and at the White House you all know what the Secret Service would have done…….. he be wrapped in a white sheet singing the blues with the locusts at Sulaibhikhat ….. THIS FACT MAKES HIM REALLY FUCKING XTREMELY LUCKY and kinda makes you wonder if what what Teeman said was true then what kind of security is guarding our head of State 🙂 . my personal quote
” All flashy flashy lights, fast red cars and loud sirens a Amir el Daulla dont protect “
This is why I LOVE this site… Unbiased bashing, pro and con! LOL So now lemme enter MY two cents. In the US, the Hostage comes first, end of story. It wouldn’t be likely that the Gunman would get to drive away, period. His car would’ve been stopped. (many ways to do it) I DO, however, respect that officer that walks up to someone with an ASSAULT RIFLE… Couldn’t be me… 🙂 Bottom line, no matter how it is done in the States, Kuwait, or anywhere else… (this time) Nobody got hurt? Right? Hell, you would think that the guy had money in the Stock Market… LOL
wtf….i thought this was a cheap kuwaiti soap opera scene when i first saw it.
guys check out the local newspaper, some shooting laws were introduces to law officers (aka ilshur6a yubay)
Why r the cop and other guy in the picture so at ease? using there mobiles like nothing is happening in front of them? weird, there kind of close sa7? I dont blame ppl thinking its a Soap..
I think you’re all missing the point here.
وعلم انه طلب لاحقاً من الشيخ مازن الجراح الذي التقاه أن يساعده في طرد الأشباح من منزله في الرميثية.
Kuwait has a problem with ghosts. I think the government should train a ghost hunting task force.
she looks so calm. She’s in on it 😀
hehe… yaa thamer id love to see ghost busters in kuwait xD that would be so awesome in so many ways. lmao =D
Shoulda shot him point blank between the eyes. This is Kuwait habibi
there is thor running in the street
