I just read that the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources is planning to build a Safari Zoo in Jahra. It’s going to be a drive-thru zoo where you will only be able to travel through it by car or specially designed trains. The fact they admit that the current zoo is inhumane is a good sign and is actually part of their reason for building the new zoo so I have high hopes for this project.
The funny part is it seems we have an animal exchange program with the Korean Zoo where we sent them deer in return for a leopard. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Check out the full article [Here]

I really really really hope they don’t import any more animals for “zoos” in Kuwait until they clean up their act at the animal facilities that are already here. If the authorities can’t even regulate inhumane activity at the Friday market, how are they going to check on larger game? SAD! No good can come from this.
Agreed. The zoo fails here because people don’t care much for animals. Is it even safe for them to hang around outside with Kuwait’s temps?

Safaris zoos, need lots of DEDICATED animal loving staffs to run the place, to maintain the place. Hope it works.

you do not need to go to a Zoo in Kuwait, just drive your car to see real wild animals in their natural habitat – for example, speeding down the emergency lane on the 5th.

I hope they ensure the animals are protected and people are not allowed to access the area on foot, trespass, get out of their cars or roll down their windows and abuse the animals.
Also, I would think that Kuwait is too hot for a safari style of zoo.
Animals suited for hot weather should be fine. Offer them some shade/ home.
As for the not so tolerant of hot weather animals put them in a closed of area that offers a more suitable temp range that they are used to. However I don’t see much point in having animals used to a colder climate in a safari.
So having animals that are used to the climate makes sense for a safari.
This is disgusting! why are they doing another zoo when they couldn’t maintain one! poor animals why do they have to suffer in the heat outside their natural habitat for a stupid ignorant to watch them from the car 🙁 sad so sad
It should have a tour driver and not people driving their own cars like in other safaris.
I would like to drive the car myself in it, but I don’t want it to be closed before I get there because of incidents that will happen either to the tourists/visitors or animals.
