Agility Fire

Just found out a huge fire broke out last night at the Agility warehouse. Hopefully no one got hurt since the fire looks huge. I hope my boxes of Coco Puffs are also safe. If you work at Agility and have information on this fire or pictures please [Contact Me]

Update: Here is a video, the fire is HUGE [YouTube]

Update2: An Agility employee had the following to say regarding this fire:

Hi Mark… Just wanted to set the record straight after seeing some of the comments about the Agility fire. I am an Agility employee. We’ve lost a 20,000 sqm warehouse last night which was occupied by our commercial customers only. No US army business was conducted there. Luckily no employees were hurt and we are working on multiple fronts to normalize operations for our clients who have been very supportive.

And why are you sticking up so much for the company ? You talk as if its your own or you benefited/benefiting something from them too ?

Stan,

One does not need to “benefit” of anything in order to participate in a discussion; for instance I did not insinuate that you are a competitor of that company.

Roy,

Why would you say I’m bitter towards that company then ?
Anyways it just seems like there is a conspiracy here.

Agility deserves to lose the warehouse, and they probably did it themselves. There greed cost 100’s of us jobs and the American people millions of dollars…so as long as no one was hurt, who cares if the warehouse went up in flames….

Me,

Who are those that lost hundreds of jobs?

To start with, most employeees inked with military business knew from the start that their days would be numbered once the US started its pullout from Iraq.

Downsizing would have happened anyway as the serviced US forces represent a fraction of what they were in 2003-2008.

As for the American people, their defense companies and contractors benefited with billions because of the Iraq war, so please spare us your banter about “lost money”.

‘Me’, Please enlighten us, why does Agility deserve to lose the warehouse, and how is it that they are greedy? Thank you!

Me- who’s fault is it that US government didn’t do their homework before signing off their contract with Agility? Oh, and it was bought to their attention by Agility partial owner because of internal dispute between him and current management. And back then, no other logistics company existed beside Agility to serve the US troops.

This warehouse was taken by Sultan center and i heard from an employee that its a big loss as they use to stock only foreign items.

“Me” – Stand in front of an Agility employee and repeat that question you asked, “Who cares?”

You will get your answer…….

Guys whats all the fuss about here ? It’s common sense that this could all be a fraudulent activity. Just few weeks back US govt. sued agility for fraud and this recent fire outbreak will surely not go without a huge insurance cover.

All in all Agility and Sultan have not lost anythin but only gained.

Stan,

The case has been going on for over a year, that’s for your weak attempt to link the current fire to the legal case.

Since you seem to be so ‘knowledgeable’, can you put a number on that “huge cover” that you’re so certain of, and could you enlighten us on the use of that money?

@Roy , I know the case has been goin on for over a year now and I also know that Agility are supposed to pay up some 10 billion dollars to the US according to the latest news. And the whole world knows about it.

Isn’t it common sense that all goods in warehouses are covered, no which world are you from, really ???

Anyways I do not know about how much they would get from the cover but it will be used to purchase those lost goods again.

Yes, the contract was worth around 9.8 billion but the settlement revolves around 68 million and the USG might ask for double that amount as per the previous link.
