Fereej posted pictures of Ahmadi from back in the late 60’s. The pictures look like a typical America suburb with a typical American Family living in a typical American home. For some reason it reminds me of those fake homes they built in the middle of the Nevada dessert to test the effects of a Nuclear explosions. [Link]

im sure i’ve seen a similar post before on ahmadi.
I live in Ahmadi ,it is the best in the world , after 19 years living here I feel very jittery when going to any city in the world even to kuwait ,Salmiya or Hawally and i want to go back as soon as possible
it is not fake but dream ,the only problem is one day we have to wake up from this dream to the real world
Ahmadi needs to be sealed off and provided with legal alcohol. Basically turned into an expat compound.
@POP, You have some issues man! Do you really think Ahmadi is the best city in the world? Ever been to Amsterdam?
@OMS
excuse me .. its Bree and Carl (forget Orson) 😛
@Q80BOY & OMS fo real!!!u guys watchin DH?LOL!
I remember back in the 80’s, when you drove to Ahmadi it felt like you were driving all the way to China.
how does that look like a typical american home to you?
i think they look cool! reaqlly homley not like a flat!
Looks more like a typical thai home if you asked me.
@MSM
yes I have been to Amsterdam as well as almost evrywhere all are nice to go for holiday but when comes to where to live I think you will select a big single floor house,large garden,no traffic lights even no traffic at all ,no noise ,no humidity,no parking problem,nearby markets,2 mints walk to hospital,safe Gardens,fountain,decoration,sport center,hubara club,private KOC restaurant even sambuca” our German Shepperd” is enjoying his life here
any one are welcomed to visit Ahmadi and i will show him around
Hi Pop,
I totally agree with you, I was born in Al-Ahmadi in 72 lived there until 86, those were the best days.
POP i totally know what you mean, know one can understand how beautiful ahmadi is to live in, unless they’ve actually lived there.
We’ve been living there for 20 years know..
I explain Ahmadi to my friends in simply one word a “resort”, and it feels amazing to live in a resort.
All the kinds to activities in one place:
– A squash Center
– Sports Center
– Gyms
– Bowling Ally
– Basketball/ Football/ Cricket courts
– Swimming Pools
– Golf
– Restaurants
– Horse Riding Club
– A Radio-controlled model airplane port
Not to mention so many other things. All of that is for free for KPC workers once they have a membership in those clubs.
No wonder you have to get a million wastas to work in the oil sector.
I now live in UK and I’d pick Kuwait over it any day! Viva la’ ahmadi..I wouldnt wanna live anywhere else in Kuwait!
I agree that living in ahmadi was great, but after the invasion and all the current changes (high fences and gates, etc..) it isn’t as good as it used to be. I lived there and loved it with every single (good or bad) memory. I don’t think it will ever be as good as back then.
I completely agree… I love Ahmadi!!! 😀
Mark you are right, it does look like somthing out of the Nevada test range, or somthing from the village on lost..hahaha
It’s a shame they don’t keep up with the maintenance on the homes in that area. I would look that much more beautiful.
Still love the area though, decaying houses and all. Very nostalgic.
you mean Ahmadi UK.. the the british people designed Ahmadi and most foreighners living at that time were british.. but yeah Ahmadi is great i really dont wanna move out.
