Just found out that they’re planning on solving the Al-Bidaa roundabout congestion by building an overpass over the roundabout. According to the article in Al Jarida, this project will take around two years to complete after all the approvals are given.
Now if someone can also solve the parking issue that would be great. [Link]

The problem is with those times. I never believed the times they give.
As for parking, an automated parking complex is required.
2 year…..more like 20 years
and there we go…somebody was bound to make fun! 😛
Not a good idea. While they begin constructing this over pass, the roads will be narrowed down and it will make traffic congestion even worse.
Add to it that it would take about 5 years to construct this over pass = 5 years of traffic congestion.
Bridges don’t appear out of thin air.. they need to be built. Whenever you try to expand a roadway you will face traffic during the process but it’s the long term goal that’s more important.
What’s the point the traffic light at the pizza hut has made things even worse !!
They should fix Plajat street first.
Isn’t two year a bit of a long time ? I suffer from the traffic that is there almost on a daily basis, pretty sure everyone else does .
In Dubai it would have taken 2 months!!
why not a tunnel?
that’s actually not a bad question. tunnel would have bene visually nicer instead of having a bridge fly over the roundabout.
Its costlier to do! Include that the sand in Kuwait is not exactly the firm kind, its an engineering nightmare! And i agree with Joe – it should actually take only 2 months to build an overpass
A tunnel has been achieved for the Jawazat Roundabout, I don’t see why this isn’t possible for Bidaa.
As for costlier, yes – but Kuwait does have the means in order to have a better roundabout.
I think it might not be possible there due to the proximity to the water and the topography of the area.
So what of water? There is an under sea tunnel from UK to France
and in Dubai as well..shindagha tunnel
I like how everyone is an engineer now 🙂
This ^^
tunnels are more difficult in sandy geologic area
and give the project to Jordanian contractors, they will finish it in 6 months
Yes in 6 month with cost raising to 6 times or more and quality less by 5 times. Kuwait have the best construction companies in the gulf and the region, they can can finish in 6-12 months if there is not interference ( the common reason why things are slow built in Kuwait)
When Parliament disbanded they had to stop construction on some of the roads because there was nobody left to approve it lol
I love how they are fixing up the roads around Kuwait, the recently did 4th ring road between qourtoba and Adaleya , yarmouk and Khaldiya. It used to be a mess, but now its as smooth as can be. Been waiting for them to fix those roads forever!
2 years my BUTT! It might take that long to get approvals and then another 5 years of fighting over who gets the tender…
Where is the Metro !!!!!!
It looks as if all traffic heading in from the sixth ring and from the fifth ring converge at one point; the traffic light next to Seif Hospital and Pizza Hut.So traffic heading to the Ras Salmiya from the 5th ring will still get blocked at the round about on the weekends when heavy rush traffic stops at the traffic light and backs up. And the chances of the project getting complete in in 02 years is as good as Alcohol getting legalized. 😉
So we are getting the alcohol legalized !!!
Alcohol should be legal, since the ****ing politicians here swindle a lot of money and come drunk for their sessions. They punish the offender with special bonuses in their already high salaries.
Why the double standard for everyone else?
Legalize it u ****ers!
Sarcasm armando sarcasm… booze is never get legal ..just like that bridge is never gona get done in 2 years…
They cant gnistryker.. the emergency rooms could’nt handle the all that inflow of alcohol related disturbences. Have you seen the emergency rooms back home in the States compared to here? The doctors here have it good.. Just the ocassional beat down from an upset local or two but nothing crazy where they have to deal with 5 emergencies at once ..
