Another cub for sale in Kuwait

When will people understand that cubs are NOT pets. I hope someone from the authorities or K’s Path can do something about this. [Link]

Thanks Phoenix

I looked at the link. I can’t believe how ignorant (deceptive?)the seller is! He is stating that the cub is domesticated and safe to play with CHILDREN!! Holly Molly! Play with children?! This cub is going to HAVE YOUR CHILDREN for lunch. Just give him a few months.

Unbelievable!

Domesticated? What a joke. There are cases where lions have mauled their owners even though they were raised by them from birth. They will always be wild animals!

Aren’t there laws in Kuwait? Or International laws that regulate the trade of wild animals? I feel more sorry for the animal than for anyone who would be stupid/selfish/arrogant enough to buy a lion cub! Can you imagine anyone being able to raise a lion correctly in Kuwait?! This is an animal that wants to HUNT for it’s food, and is used to a huge territory! Is there any government agency that this link can be forwarded to, to check this out?

There are no awareness of these type of issues.
Let alone this should be banned and illegal, having a wild animal, regardless of time of “domestication”, is still a wild animal.

Having it play around with enfants and young adults is worrying, animals should be dealt professionally.
This isn’t it.

Cant anyone do something about it?
Can the contact authorities and do something before someone buys it!
If i knew someone i would try to fix this … but i dont:(

susy,
Sorry I don’t think anybody can do anything before somebody buys it, I already bought the cub from the guy!!! he’s sitting next to me as I’m typing this, very cute indeed 😉 j/k

I forwarded the link to PAWS-Kuwait and they said they will report the guy to the appropriate authorities (although, admittedly, they said that they have no idea if the authorities will do anything about it) .

2 of the people responsible for CITES Fauna work for Kuwait Zoo…
The same Kuwait Zoo shown here:

How much can you expect from people who work for a zoo that allows visitors to feed monkeys candy?
