I got an email yesterday from the owner of Shoo? Shawerma asking me to go back and try their shawermas now. He had read my extremely negative review of Shoo? Shawerma and decided to explain the situation to me.
It turns out they had a problem with the shawerma master and they ended up firing him and replacing him with a new more qualified guy. He also told me the reason their shawermas are more expensive then other places is because most places uses Indian beef which is 600fils a KG while they use Brazilian beef which is KD1.300 a KG. But with the firing of the shawerma master they decreased the shawerma price down to 300fils and they changed the menu.
So next time I go to Sultan Center I will pass by Shoo? Shawerma and give it another shot and then either update my review or keep it the same.

i saw on emirates news on one tv about indian mutton (not beef though) coming back to dubai markets at a premium after being banned or something and there being high demand for them due to its quality.
anyways.. hehe it seems your blog is growing more and more popular, even, the owner of shoo shawerma surfs here.

just for fun mark even if there shawerma was good say that it is bad , keep doing this . let’s see how many times they will keep changing there shawerma just to satisfy one persons opinions.
i know that you didnt like there shawerma but i think if they changed it just for you it’s not fare to other customers who might like it just the way it is, that shows you how restaurants here are so fucking afraid of the media , or in this case ….. A BLOG!

Jane you hater, he didn’t change the shwarma. He just fired the M3alim(Shwarma Master whatever) and lowered the prices. Every costumer should be happy about that.. Plus Mark sort of has a following since a lot of people view his blog and all of those people created a negative opinion of the restaurant after Mark had reviewed it. Smart move by the owner..

jane they didnt fire the guy or change the shawerma for me. If I complained about the shawerma I am sure other people did to.
Purg they dropped their prices down from 350fils to 300, thats not half.
How does cutting the meat affect the taste? Or is the skill in how much heat you expose the meat to, as in how much you cook it?
I prefer Weekend’s Mosahab(boneless chicken) sandwich over shwarma in general so I don’t care that much..
the shawerma master doesnt only cut the shawerma!
the shawerma master is basically in charge of the shawerma, that includes the garlic, the chicken and meat, the toppings etc..
if the shawerma master has no taste in shawerma then its bound to come out crap. i believe the master is in charge of the flavoring (spices and stufF) also.
the shawerma master is in charge of adding the “special sauce” to the meat
