Backstage at BMW

bmw garage

I finally picked up my car today from the BMW dealer but before I picked it up I got taken backstage to the garage and given a short tour plus introduced to a few people.

Overall I found the employees backstage to be a lot friendlier and more interesting then the people they have in the front dealing with customers which is kind of ironic. They told me they had received calls from various people around the world regarding my email and post (thanks to everyone who told me to email BMW in Germany and Dubai). The workshop manager told me no case ever grew to this proportion and that next week a delegation is even coming to Kuwait to check on the problems.

I told the workshop manager I was positive they weren’t coming because of my complaint alone but because they had been receiving a lot of complaints from many people. I also told him I wouldn’t have even sent out the emails or posted what I posted had there been friendly and good customer service.

Anyway they fixed the car and didn’t charge me for it and now its running perfectly so I am happy.

Umm, shouldn’t they compensate you for the money you paid for the first visit assuming what they fixed or changed was not needed?

I wonder how they will present that delegation visit in the papers, most likely positively not telling the truth about the reason of their visit.

Oh, and this will please you I guess, my sister complained that I should be like you and nat and market my blog, … you are a bad influence on her, to my sister, if you are reading this, go eat a cookie 😛

I have a BMW as well , the customer service is AWFUL ,
they are sooo lazy and not friendly ,and they have this que system which is VERY VERY primative , you take a plastic chip that has a number and wait , and I NEVER EVER heard an employee calling out numbers .. i usually take the chip and sit down till i get bored then i go stick my face to him and tell him ” yallaah , come check my car ” .. then he does his job ,

they can simply install an electronic que system just like in banks. and their appointments are horrible .. he tells u .. bring your car after 10 days or more , and it stays there for more than a week for a service ..
I once wanted to replace some parts in my car .. which costs around 85 kd and the labor cost was maybe 180 kd . i bought the parts and installed them outside for 15 kd

the laziest person there is called SJITH , also some other guys i forgot their names…

I’ve heard Fuad Alghanim ( Audi and VW ) has better service , and less rip off

Well done, Mark! Your complaint resounded, and if this delegation is truly coming, there is hope for a change in the customer service approach BMW will take here – so your outrage has (insh’allah) made things better for a whole lot of BMW owners/drivers in Kuwait.

woow

Thank you Mark, 2:48am Blog is a victory for its readers and the owner of Blog.
Once again Congragulation everybody.

Very nice.. well at least they fixed your problem and you shined a light on the problems in their customer service. The feedback will helpfully make them better! It always takes something like this to get them going.

When I had my 745Li, the garage manager Mr. Brian Cunningham was exteremly attentive to any service need I had, everytime I take my car to service he’s always gets it in without an appointment and when the warranty expired he told me that I benifited from a good will warranty which covered up to 50% parts and labour. my next new will difinitely be a bimmer because of my after sales experience
