A reader commented under one of my posts that one of my favorite shawerma places in Kuwait, Badar Al Badoor changed their name to Bazar Al Bazoor. According to the reader, when it came to renewing their license their sponsor wanted them to pay KD10,000 just for the name “Badar Al Badoor”. They told him no way and decided to change the name. Everything is still the same except the place is now called Bazar Al Bazoor. It sounds really funny now but in Arabic if you remove the dots over the letter “za” you get Badar Al Badoor again.

what do you mean by “their sponsor”?
i guess their kuwaiti sponsor?
Yea I was just about to ask the same question moayad asked. And who is the owner of the place?
by the way I think it’s Bathr Al Bathoor, not with the Z.
Never mind the comment about the letters, just saw the english words on their sign.
i don’t care about the letters, the food is gr8 their

Hasn’t that building been demolished yet?

Who care what its called in english as far as the food has the same taste……..awesome
I noticed the changes in the resturant name last week when I did stop to eat some sandweechat, I real felt that tast not the same as it use to do, then when I saw the name was different I thought the place been sold to new managment. And they have alot of dirty&sick cats over there.
I had it tonight, tastes the same. The sick dirty cats add flavor 😉
My dads friend owns that shop:D its awesome free food
loool mark its “Th” not “Za” ;P
i did noticed that a while a go

I didn’t think what I said would be this important!
lol i like turning small things into big things.
… never say that to a woman.
It used to sound kuwaiti now it sounds bangladeZi. like baryani DIZAZ “برياني دزاز يعني دجاج”
LONG LIVE BANGALI IN KUWAIT
كل شباب الهيلق يعني المتسكعين موجودين
الطيور علي اشكالها تقع
very funny, they just added the dots
Thats great, I hope it shows the “sponsor” not to be so greedy next time.
hi, where’s the place exactly??
in Beneid El Gar, where’s all the sick&dirty cats.
Did a cat touch you in private places when you were young?
that might explain why he/she keeps talking about those cats lmao
Or maybe its just a true fact that Mark is trying to deny !!
Way to be jerks u guys !!
Ask your self first.
where exactly in beneid el Gar? im hoping to try it tomorow…
Its a good place n has awesome shawerma’s, y tey r tasty coz tey put this special chilli sauce red in colr n add uniqiuely frid potati chips as stuffing along with de meats..
its located in bneid al gar, once u pass the Safir Hotel n enter de gulf road take the right turn which leads to Le Merideian and Diet Center, continue straight n you will see a building in front of u called Health CareCenter continue down the road n take the first right turn again near the mosque entry… you will see the shwarma Badoor in front of u , ofcourse there is another shwerma shop on the left which has good tasty kebab sandwiches…
Enjoy …
They should consider using the thin shawerma khobz instead of the sumoon…
samoon is the only way to go, think bread is so blekh
Or atleast give the customer the choice…
