BBC Update

A reader emailed BBC regarding the recent problem with the reception and this is what they responded:

Regarding Kuwait, we are aware of a change of reception quality of our signal. It appears that the authorities there have changed the transmitter site resulting in poorer reception for at least some of our listeners.

We are examining possibilities of rectifying this situation but at present cannot be sure of what the final outcome will be.

That sucks.

today i drove from home in Mahbola to my office in souk Al-Kabir, using road 30 and first ring road new extension . and didn’t have any problem with the reception. other days i had a bit of problem.
i noticed that while i drive my new car fitted with a better radio set with all the digital stuff(auto search ,TTR and blah blah .. etc..) i have problem with the reception but with my old car fitted with a normal radio set, there is no problem.
note both are standard fitted radio set by the car manufacturer

I dont know why i sense a hidden agenda to control any FM radio station by the government… why shut down other English stations? why not allow private stations to acquire licenses? why we have to be stuck with Linda on 99.7 RKFM?

I think Kuwait radio needs a MAJOR makeover.”

i wasnt mistaken after all!

Radio Licenses cost a hefty amount of money. I don’t understand why, maybe to limit the stations in the country ? subject is open for debate.

Hahahahaha. That’s funny.

I had terrbile reception this morning in Mahaboula and Fahaheel, but it worked great in Jahra.

BBC is the only good thing on the airways. Now the goverment has screwed over that one too leaving us with no alternatives other than Linda. *shudders*

The choicest words to say to and about her come up when I happen to switch her on on my drives in the hope there’ll be some half decent music played after her plagiarist babble. Unfortunately they don’t come to mind now.
