Best Shawerma?

badar al badoor

I passed by Badar Al Badoor yesterday. They supposingly make the best shawerma in Kuwait but when I passed by they still hadn’t started making shawermas so I couldn’t try them out. Will try to pass by tonight.

To get to Badar Al Badoor you take the Gulf Road as if going from the Kuwait Towers toward Salmiya. Once you pass Fuddruckers on your left and Safir Hotel on your right you take a right following the Commercial Bank of Kuwait signage. Once you take the right (Safir Hotel is now still on your right hand like this) you take your first right again and you will spot Badar Al Badoor in front of you.

here is it on google maps [Link]

mark, try the place right in front of it i forgot the name. it’s next to the mosque. their laham shawerma is plain but their chicken shawerma is sublime. just order it without the chips they put inside.

it’s chunky and greasy and mmmm fantastic

For me…..Jeita’s (Salmiya) shawerma is heavenly. Im told that their Philly Steak is also great, but when I get there, my mouth just waters for their shawermas. This stuff literally just melts in your mouth…slurrrrrp!! (scuse the drooling)

Mark,
Try their “round potatoes” sandwich (Botat mdawar sandwich)! It’s good. That’s what they’re famous for. Bon appetit

Could be right abt Jeits’s shawermas…been ages since I went there to eat…hehe…after posting my comment, I decided to go there this evening and grab me a few. Guess I wont now.

mark this place is like right infront of badr al budoor. next to de mosque.
chicken shawerma without chips inside.

Tried bader al badoor a few times, the meat one isnt that nice in my opinion but the chicken is pretty good. Wouldnt know whether its the best shawarma, have tried better. there’s another gr8 shawarma place around there, dont know the name but will post it once i know. The chicken shawarma there is gr8, crispy and made to perfection. The chips inside is pretty good.

I heard a lot about Badar Al Badour but when I went to actually try it – it was crap! I too think Jeita is great – but haven’t been there for a while.

Where is Qadeer in Salwa?

hey…I know the place that KtheKuwaiti is talking abt…the shawermas are totally awesome and even their kebbab sandwiches are great. That is the only place ive seen where they charge you extra if you ask them to add potatoes to their sandwiches. And if any of you guys like the pickled chilies, make sure you ask the guy who makes the meat shawermas, he usually hides a whole load of them in the cupboard below the shawerma stand. And my final complaint is….get ready to get baked while you wait for your sandwiches. It gets really hot in there. In the end, the sandwiches are all worth it though!

Dude, everything has to be measured with price. For 200 fils a peice, man there isint any better value! Everyone that went there is addicted to this shit. I think they use cat meat in it!! Seriously addictive. The other place is called Burgan, havent tried their chicken shawarma though. Whether peole love it or hate it…this is place that gets shit loads of cars parked outside every single day. I was there last night, they ran out of shawarma, so I tried the other stuff, not bad, but the shawarma is a killer!

You should try Al-Ghadeer Shawarma in Salwa Block 6. I wont comment I just leave it to you to try. Just try to be there as early as 8pm. Otherwise you wont get any.

u should also try the shawermas from kurdo. its located right after texas chicken in salmiya. it tastes amazing. and if u dont like that than you should give naif a try

i personally loved shawermas from washar in sharq. unfortunately they shut down a year or so ago. It was right opposite arraya, there is a kuwait international bank branch in its location now. i heard they moved, but havent been able to find them anywhere

A bit tricky to find and the picture illustrated is not the same in actual. The signage is all in Arabic now. Road leading to joint is a bit of an off-road. There are two locations within walking distance – 20 feet’ish. It’s as shown a small joint and patrons walking in to order are right next to the food. Hygiene does look questionable. Options include chicken, beef, kofta, and shish-tawook. Menu in Arabic.
All sandwiches were good… Kofta was a bit salty though. Apparently, the restaurant has been around for 30 years… Will be back!
