3adi it’s nothing new, everyone knows he buy’s votes… he’s paying 1000kd this year last time he was paying 500kd and he also gives out LV bags for the ladies….

where is the money. i didnt see cash changing hand total BS. let ppl enjoy few kds. the election is big joke anyway

LV bags for the ladies? real ones or fakes?

The video is not too clear, and I don’t really understand Arabic. Can you tell he’s selling the votes from what they’re saying?

5: It might be nothing new .. but this is evidence that its being done and people getting caught. Before this video it was considerd hearsay.

Someone: They made her swear to vote for Jamal Al-Omar and then give her the stuff (listen closely)

Q8Sultana: LV/Channel bags with a envelope of cash inside of them. Basically the video starts off with a couple of secs of Jamal Al-Omar .. then a lady telling another one to swear over a Quran that she would vote for Jamal Al-Omar (in exchange for money). And yes, people could do that .. hence the swearing on the Quran (and other methods of making sure they vote for the right person).

They could claim that its fake and thats not him! That is the problem! it isnt that good, and it isnt like one of those glasses with cameras! thats what they should have used!

sahat al safat says that it wasnt jamal on the video, it was his bro or cousin.
he is supported by the government so I dont really think anything will happen to him, it is also too late to build a case against him so I think his name will be on the ballot on thursday

it will be interesting to see what the protest in front of the jabriya police station tommrow will do to the election.

Thanks for the clarification.

However, since they are using the Quran to make people swear to go through with something illegal, would it be a sin to break that swear?
Kind of like do two wrongs make it right?

Also, didn’t this Jamal guy take an oath himself at some point in his political career to be ethical and legal?

They should just have all the people running in the elections swear on the Quran not to cheat.

good point sultana. It’s really the principle here.

By breaking a promise on the Quran, the person swearing is pretty much condemned. Nobody wants to be condemned, it’s something we’ve been taught to fear, condemnation that is.

On the other hand, selling your vote is also very naughty in Islam, as is buying votes (cheating), but here I guess it’s the lesser of two evils. Should I be condemned to the hellfire or should I vote for him and get a bag? Or maybe not sell my vote at all, but that’s no fun!

Yazeed: Your right its his brother .. I got caught up and watched the video before reading the post.

Q8Sultana: It is two wrongs .. yet they don’t make it right. Jamal guy has taken many oaths over his Political Career. And since he has shown that he doesn’t uphold them .. you can only imagine what to believe when he talks about his political campaign.

This is a crucial time for kuwait. This new parliament that gets elected will determine whether we are on the road to true reform (albeit against the governments true wishes) or whether we will end up have a representation in parliament by MPs which are mostly crooks.

Pivotal moment in Kuwaits history

Its all or nothing now

Justme, judging by the way things look, it’s going to be nothing. the core of this country hasn’t changed much since the 80’s, why the fuck should it change now?

it’s hilarious how ppl are getting so worked up over this silly election when it’s obvious that things will either remain the same or get much worse thanks to the strength of the islamic movement and a ruling party that couldn’t give a damn. how much you want to bet that no women will even enter parliment?

ppl were getting all worked up at sheikh sabah taking rule and look at all the shit that has been hapenning so far, no real changes except the lovely lack of water. o

From what I understand, those who sell their votes are given a ballot sheet with the candidate’s name already marked, and are asked to take it into the voting booth with them and bring out the original empty sheet that they were given to vote on – if that makes any sense at all. I’m just not so convinced that having someone swear on the Qur’an is a guarantee that the person will vote the way they are told.

well I say that the man is impartial and a good one too. the question is……did yall socialoze with him?????? ofcourse not. I met him and sat with him and found out that he’s a strict man.He serves the people’s moduli and help the people of Odailiya and surra and jabriya. this is not a proof or a clue that he is not a serving and a helpful man. Jamal kel 3eyal al3dailiya especially 3yal block ethnain. My vote is still to Jamal alomar.I think it’s adequate that 1898 from the people of area ten voted for him.we’re still coherent with Jamal AL-Omar. I think that it is still not a proof that this is a scandal of him.

Jamal al omar is good person all this talks about him is just not true, and all the roumers mayestohoon al ohyohhum, i thank god that jamal won, kisr roos ily yekrahoona especially someone in the 10nth district ill tala markez ill thaleth.
