Carluccio’s?

Spotted this new restaurant that’s opening up at the Avenues called Carluccio’s. I haven’t heard of it before but it seems to be a UK franchise that’s also available in Dubai.

Antonio Carluccio is an Italian chef, he has wrote many cooking books and has his own restaurants on his name. I believe the father of a friend owns a franchise in London. I’ve been to the one in Dubai, food is quite good, adapted Italian food for the Arab people (no alcohol or pork) still good, he also has a line of cooking products like olive oil, cold cuts, pasta, olives and bread.
I think all his restaurants look alike and their lasagna is great.

Its a organic italian place
not that expensive but pretty over priced for what it is
they have a nice deli as well

Yes I saw it at the Avenues the other day and was surprised no one mentioned it yet. Seems to be a nice concept, but nothing new. Not sure if the location will help them, its so isolated and people like to be SEEN. Obika seems to be suffering because of that…

It’s in one of Oxford st corners and at the airport terminal 5 it’s typical Italian and they also sell their products.. it’s a good one

Welcome to Kuwait where you can get food and something to wear … thats all.. what about a Race track or a Drag strip, Mile Run ? please !!

@_@

Carluccio’s?
Carluccio’s is opening up in Avenus?!

AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!!!!

How could i have missed this?! I ADORE CARLUCCIO’S! The food, the soup, the cakes, the gourmet store… <3

Where will it open? i don't recognize the two stores on either end!!!!!!!

AT LAST!

These are my reviews for Carluccio's in the UK and Dubai

I have seen the hoarding yesterday at Avenues. The location is not great but I have tried their food in Dubai and it is excellent. I have taken some pastas to home and my wife liked it well. Welcome to Kuweit.

The back wall be removed to expose the floor to ceiling glass window.

It’s not the best location at Avenue’s but can you suggest an alternative location that’s available?? Don’t think so… To be at Avenue’s is the primary objective and another location will follow but can’t disclose just yet.

If you appreciate quality Italian food prepared by authentic ITALIANS then this is the place to come.

And NO this is not another ‘American’ convert restaurant. This is authentic as can be….

How can you say it’s expensive?? We make ALL our pasta fresh and we use ONLY the finest and freshest ingredients. Don’t expect you to accept this until you’ve tried it.

Should be opening in early January so see you then.

It’s everywhere in the UK. Most of their dishes have wine in em. The only thing I could order was mozzarella and tomato salad! The atmosphere is cozy though.

This is a company now owned and managed by the indian landmark group. Their focus is to grow the me franchise just as they have done for splash , baby shop, max, etc. The quality of delivery will be linked closely to the food ingredients used. Forget the creators recipes!

Don’t worry about wine content. Carluccio’s already exists in Dubai with 3 outlets. Dubai Mall, Mirdiff City Centre and Dubai Marina Mall. No sign of alcohol in the food. There is also a Carluccio’s opening on the 20th November at The Pearl Qatar in parcel 10.

Carluccio’s will be the only AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant in Kuwait. Forget Biela or others… Biela was created in Dubai by Wafi.

Did you know that Jamie Oliver’s first apprentice job was working for Antonio Carluccio?

Carluccio bought the Neal Street, London, restaurant in 1989 from Priscilla’s brother, the designer Sir Terence Conran, and it soon became the place to be seen: everyone from Prince Charles to Placido Domingo and Mick Jagger ate there. As an apprentice, Jamie Oliver learnt to cook Italian food in its kitchens.

Most of the ingredients for Carluccio’s Kuwait will be imported from Italy. All the pasta is made daily fresh on the premises and they only use FRESH chicken and beef. No frozen products except the ice-cream.

Yes, the Landmark Group has purchased the UK company and therefore owns the whole business. The company was purchased for $135m.

The Landmark Group will grow the Carluccio’s business across the GCC and will being going into Turkey in 2011 also. Egypt is also planned for next year.

A 2nd Carluccio’s will open in Kuwait in 2011.

The Landmark Group’s F&B Division, Foodmark, also operates several other brands such as Meat Company, Mango Tree, Mango Tree Bistro, Ushna, Zafran, Bites Cafe, Gourmet Station, Le Zen, Wild Ginger, Bazerkan and La Gaufrette.

Meat Company is already at 360 Mall and I’m sure most of you has already visited.

Landmark Group has a reputation of managing great restaurants.

More to come….

You can bring as many italian franchises as you want, Al Forno is the best and the more authentic. Under the AlShaya mgt

Alferno is having good pastas, but still i like the Carluccios one. Nice to know this is under the Centrepoint/Landmark Co. I know the guy who run their restaurants – i think his name is Haleem or Khaled. He organised a wonderful party for my daughter at their Jungle Restaurant in Salmiya.

i tried it when i was in london and it was okay and not really the best ! but again we only ordered 2 dishes which i shared with my mom so i guess i’ll give it a try once it opens.

I am so excited!!! A real touch of Europe in Kuwait.
Authentic Italian food, fab desserts!! And a deli that is amazing!!
If you like gimmicks then this is restaurant will not be for you, but quality for true Sicilian food – this is your place!

Molto Buono!!!

Carluccio’s Avenue Mall has opened today!!

Soft opening until 13th February…

Currently giving 20% discount to all customers….

See you soon.
