Club 666 Extreme

People, if you’re going to hold a party don’t put a flyer up in a public place. A reader shot the flyer above and posted on his flickr account and the 248AM Forum. The flyer says:

I think the cops will call the number in the flyer.. or the have done it already ๐Ÿ˜›

Well I for one am very pleased if the cop called cause it says “Non Arab” ๐Ÿ™ that’s racist

Refusing entrance to a particular ethnic group without proper explanation is pretty much racial discrimination.

[i]Racial Discrimination
To treat differently a person or group of people based on their racial origins. Power is a necessary precondition, for it depends on the ability to give or withhold social benefits, facilities, services, opportunities etc., from someone who should be entitled to them, and are denied on the basis of race, colour or national origin.[/i]

So when the ministries, banks, oil companies etc. hire only kuwaitis and gcc nationals – that is not RACIST???

If you do not like it, maybe you should go find a job back home ? Maybe in one of your ministries or oil companies. If you are Kuwaiti, and marketing this country in a negative manner – you should know better.

Just to correct you. What bank only hires Kuwaitis and GCC only ? Name just one.

As for ministries, this is a governmental sector and it’s called nationalization. And yes the ministries have egyptians, syrians and even leabenese. Yet, the ratio of Kuwaitis is higher simply because this is a Kuwait Goverment sector. Do you see Ukranians working in Italian sector of tourism ? Or Greeks in the ministry of health in Thailand ?

If you have so much hate for Kuwait and Kuwaitis, I don’t think you belong here. Find a place that will accomodate you other than this town. No country in the GCC treats the expats as fairly as this country ! you might think Dubai huh, why dont’ you go give it a shot.

@ Hamad.. I’m not a Kuwaiti. but I’m with you on this. I haven’t heard of even one company or Govt sector in Kuwait that hire’s only Kuwaities. if that was the case you wouldn’t have lot of expats here.

Yes, there are not so great points about Kuwait. but Kuwait is one of the most secured countries in the world. you don’t have riots happening every now n then. no terrorist attacks etc etc.. and you would never be able to earn this kind of money in your home country. the one’s who can has already left.

Of course Kuwait can better the rights of expats. one of my major concerns are the people who’s spent a life time here and is treated just like the guy who came yesterday. probably the govt can pass a sanction of PR (Permenant Residency) for such people. so that when they are old they dont have to strive for resedency and they can provide PR to the expats born in Kuwait. so that they atleast have a upper hand above the guy who came yesterday. please note PR in no terms mean nationality ;).

I was born in Kuwait. I’ve spent like 90% of my life in Kuwait. but if tomorrow something goes wrong and I dont have a job which eventually will lead to no residency. the Govt will just deport me. i don’t think that’s fair. a PR will atleast ensure me that even if I don’t have a job i can stay back. I don’t have to work where I don’t want to just for the sake of residency.

Thank you for the fair response. I totally agree on your latter point of allowing permanent or prolonged residency for expats whove been here for a long time. I wish for no one to gets deported; yet in a fairly manner.

As for bettering the rights of expats, I only see that as the main obstacle. I believe expats carry the same rights as locals in general.

[Just to correct you. What bank only hires Kuwaitis and GCC only ? Name just one.]
All the banks dude; if there are expats they’ve been there for ages and are probably required to ensure the banks run smoothly.

[As for ministries, this is a governmental sector and itโ€™s called nationalization. And yes the ministries have egyptians, syrians and even leabenese.]
If it’s called nationalization, then why keep the other nationalities (egyptians, syrians and even leabenese)? Terminate them and hire kuwaitis to replace them. But NO, they can’t do that, as kuwaitis don’t work, the expats do; hence required for smooth running of the ministries.

[If you have so much hate for Kuwait and Kuwaitis, I donโ€™t think you belong here. Find a place that will accomodate you other than this town. ]
Dude, I don’t hate Kuwait and/or Kuwaitis, (I have lots of Kuwaiti friends and lots more memories of Kuwait), but just pointing out, that’s all mate.

So, dude no need to get upset, chill.

1. Wrong again. My Lebanese friend just got hired in Gulf Bank just recently. The banks don’t run smoothly just from the expats, it’s a join work effort between them and the locals. Yes it is harder for expats to get jobs at banks these days, because the country puts locals at the forefront, as a national duty to give the workless Kuwaitis jobs. Yet not just random locals but ones who deserve these jobs. Trust me there are plenty.

2.Why keep other nationalities in the government sector ? you just contradicted yourself; aren’t you the one that said they don’t exist in that sector? Now your saying they can’t be fired because Kuwaitis don’t work ? As for the quite rude comment of Kuwaitis don’t work, that is a quite general comment. How do you think this country is running ? So your saying expats are what’s moving this country into it’s course of future development ? Or parliament members have there expat advisors decide our future ? You just disregarded the nationality of the locals by demeaning there work ethics, not one but ALL of them ?! Let’s be realistic there is the lazy and there is the early bird, just as is the case everywhere else in the world. Should they choose to be lazy, let them be – why does this bother you ? We are happy this way ! These are people working for the Kuwait government – see it says “Kuwait” government. Not the government of Nepal,Kenya,Chile,Australia,Syria,India. When we want to go work in those governments they can fire us then.
3.It doesn’t matter how much Kuwaiti friends you have, whether it’s one or 500. It is quite obvious you carry some heaviness around and within you, when you come and generalize a whole population like that. A population that carries history for this country, a population that has opened it’s doors for so many expats in fact they overwhelm us,a country that has a fund to develop most other countries inclusive of Lebanon,Egypt,Yemen, and several many other countries in the past and present the list is quite long. Should you carry such thoughts of generalization, I highly suggest you keep them to yourself and not throw them around unfairly and un-maturely. You see as a Kuwaiti whose arrived in this country 300 years ago, I do not take it lightly when an outsider comes and throws around demeaning and unfair opinions. By all means it is your opinion, just be fair with it and know your facts. We open our country willingly and with love to everyone who lives in it, our justice system treats you fairly; that most other Arab countries don’t even regard there nationals in the same manner an expat does here; needn’t I say which of those.

I’ll chill when you start mentioning the opportunities this country has given you. Has your country given you the same opportunity as Kuwait has ?

And on a further note.

@fp: I said it once and Iโ€™ll say it again if you donโ€™t like the conditions then just leave, money never brought true happiness.
If I was somewhere I didnโ€™t like Iโ€™d pack up and leave since things were so peachy back at home, Iโ€™d keep my respect for where I live and simply leave instead of whining like a little
brat.

@Hamad… forget this Whatwho guy..
he doesnt have the facts right.

you can argue with someone who puts the facts in front. but can’t argue with a kid who thinks santa is real. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dude, that’s not being racist. It’s called nationalization. Kuwait is required and expected to take care of its people, just like any other country. As for banks not hiring non Kuwaitis, I work in a bank and close to HR. That’s just an excuse to say that you suck and we’d rather have a national than you. We hire plenty of “valuable” expats.

As per the above definition of racism, Kuwait practices racism on the bedouns and on all expats working and living here.

@fp: I said it once and I’ll say it again if you don’t like the conditions then just leave, money never brought true happiness.
If I was somewhere I didn’t like I’d pack up and leave since things were so peachy back at home, I’d keep my respect for where I live and simply leave instead of whining like a little

So many people from my mom’s country want to leave their country but when they do so they miss their country even more but only few of them go back even if they could afford to … its dum really.

@NJ
You are absolutely right. But dude, I’m not whining; just pointing out what Phoenix’s post says:

i.e. [i]Racial Discrimination
To treat differently a person or group of people based on their racial origins. Power is a necessary precondition, for it depends on the ability to give or withhold social benefits, facilities, services, opportunities etc., from someone who should be entitled to them, and are denied on the basis of race, colour or national origin.

So NJ relax.

No were not. I just appreciated that post and decided to give it’s contribution onto my post.

Thank you.

female “free” and men pay 5KD, they obviously know that if there are women inside men will pay a fortune LOL.. FAIL

Exactly my thought, like if the racist header paragraph wasn’t enough, they blow my mind with the last line.

By the way, MOI can’t do anything about this, since its private property. And unless someone from the same building complains about it, they have no permission or what so ever to enter that place.

Ozcoz MOI can bust these guys. they can’t do anything if they held a private party. but this is commercial. he has posted an advertisement and is charging the guests. so he is using his residential property for commercial use.

if the MOI didn’t have any proof then they couldn’t have done anything, but Mark just made the proof available.

but it’s sad that you cant even hold a party in Kuwait without taking prior permission etc etc…

I doubt if the cops busted them though… he’s mentioned western crowd. which probably means he’s got a handful of them alraedy. cops would do something is there were Asians. But if there are any Americans, Canadians or Britishers in the house the cops will just turn their back and walk. I’ve witnessed one too many incidents like these.

Funny and maybe a bit discriminatory . I would not say racist. I have many female friends that had to “uninvite” me to parities because the Male Arab host didn’t want any American men… but American women, filipinas, Arab women were all welcome.
Funny how that works huh?
Mark is it ok for me to post locations of the parties some of the Arab men throw on your 248pm website? I have copies of email invites as well.

Wasn’t the flyer above posted in an elevator of a building where mostly westerners lived?

Party for what exactly? Haha can I join and spy too? I’m half non-arab … maybe I’ll be able to get some cash reward or something for being an insider ;p.

Letting women in free in common practice in most clubs in the western world. It is a way of making sure the ratio of women to men is better.

As for no Arabs yes you could say this is racist but probably implies they have there own parties which most non Arabs never would get invited to anyway.

This is common practice, if you had ever been to a club before.

“Ladies no cover” – is what its called.

Guarantees that if women are there, men will flock. The ratio will be better.

Just go down gulf road on a weekend, see the ratio of the number of guys in cars chasing after one poor girl.

That’s your proof.

One thing you can count on, boys will be boys, and girls will be girls – damn all the equal sexism PC crap. Cheerleaders had the most guys surrounding them, all girls schools have the most guys hanging outside, and just like that – women getting in free means guys will follow like ducks flying south for winter.

I would say in an overly male dominated society like we have in the middle east, given the ratio of men to women – you are looking at easy 3 to 1 ratio, hell 5 to 1 too if you throw in dancing and music.

I think you are new here…that’s why you don’t know the kinds of people we get…So be a little more mature will ya.

if ur having some problem in knowing who these people are,pls google them and watch Arrivals on youtube

666 has NOTHING to do with the freemasons…dont get ur information from what u hear..cuz u most probably heard it from someone who heard it from someone who heard it from some idiot

maybe they don’t want party crashers who will just show up and throw around numbers and look desperate? ๐Ÿ™‚

Watch the newspaper for this any day now

“Gentlemen Club”??? Isn’t that the name they use for clubs that include strip and peep shows?!

what kind of a racist party is this ?? good thing he didnt write “Dogs & arabs not allowed” -.-

FAIL !!

Are you people forgetting the fact that it’s a gentlemans club?!
I guess they don’t want Arabs raining on their parade when it comes to the strippers

btw i just googled that phone number and the search returned the name of Namal Rodrigo who seems to be a person with all kind of ‘services’ that sound to me more like a scam ;/

The 666 number is just there way to say “our party is WILD TO THE EXTREME” and the “no Arab” is maybe becuse Arabs is the party spoiler ? …mystery solved lol.

Date: 09-Apr-2011
Time: 10:00pm โ€“ 3:00am…

u all misunderstood them,NOTICE THE TIME, its a relegious gathering with no satanic intentions or any sign that there will even b dancing… and after the praty every1 returns home for fajir prayer…

Dear Readers โ€“ We have made serious efforts to understand your ideas on this issue.
This event was organized for some particular people with same social interests.
When it says โ€“ Non-Arabs mean:
We were planned to have only selected people to come and enjoy our event, but unfortunately our flyer went to one / some wrong people.
We do respect every culture and every nationality.
But we need to understand your (Arab) culture and value. We love Kuwait at the same time we like to live our lives. We have been entertainers for many years for different people. All we do is entertaining people and we make our rewards.
The reason this event was particularly for the westerners only โ€“ due to many reasons
1. We do not want to disrespect you in anyway having you and serving things that are forbidden by your culture.
2. We as westerners are freed from many things that are forbidden according to Arab culture.

We had many events with our Arabs friends which were lot of fun and worth promoting. We have lot of respect for Kuwait and people who live in Kuwait. But at the same time we were trying to do something special for our people who come here live day to day but if they wanted to have some good time they will have to go to Dubai or somewhere else.

This event went very well.
But we have DISCONTINUED having anything like this in the future.
We did not know if people would make such discrimination like this for a special event like this.
We apologized for your hard feelings toward this and we will try not to have anything like this come to your attention in the future.
Have a good day!

โ€œ666โ€ has nothing to do with Freemasons and we are not part of any such organizations.

Mark โ€“ We like to thank you for your effort of publishing this here. Please remove this in your convenient. We do not want anyone to have false feelings about us. It is very important. Thanks.

All โ€“ If anyone of you would like to say anything: we welcome your thoughts. Thanks.

Mark โ€“ We have reviewed our rights and contacted appropriated personals for you publishing this on your blog.
You do not have an official authorization to publish this without our written approval.
We have not given this flyer to you nor have we placed this flyer in your properties.
This flyer contend some personal information which you do not have right to publish.
This event was for selected people and you were not part of the selected who were invited for this event.
This was a private event. Please tell us how you have taken this flyer.
Please provide us your rights to publish this.
Please remove this blog and all the links which are associated with this blog.
This will cause to create negative feelings toward some selected people and countries.

Dear Lexi,

You say that this event is for “westerners Only”, but since Mark is from Lebanon, and since Lebanon is to the west of Kuwait, I’m pretty sure that it makes Mark automatically included in your invitees by geographical compliance.
For future events, please use a geographical starting point, for example, say “This event is for people who were born to the north and west of Turkey”.

@Bilal hahahaha!

And Lexi, you might consider going through how the flyer was made public before blaming it on Mark, and if you read correctly, his entry does say: “People, if youโ€™re going to hold a party donโ€™t put a flyer up in a public place. A reader shot the flyer above and posted on his flickr account and the 248AM Forum”.

The flyer was made public by someone who didn’t care much about your “official authorization” or “personal information”.

And FYI, in this country, you do not get to dictate what publicly exposed elements we are allowed to blog, tweet, and take a photo of. Pleas ensure that your belongings are not made public and you won’t find them online ๐Ÿ™‚

Dear Lexi,

Again, Arab Dudes = not allowed, Arab Women are welcome?
how is that not offending to our “Kuwaiti” or “Arab” Culture?

@ Lex..
[We have not given this flyer to you nor have we placed this flyer in your properties.]

You made it available for public by sticking it on a wall. so you really lost it on this point.

[This flyer contend some personal information which you do not have right to publish]

Really? personal…hmmm… why did you advertise it then? i wonder….

[This event was for selected people and you were not part of the selected who were invited for this event]

again… really…Did you seriously review your rights? with who? a 5th grader?
if the event was for some selected people you call them, make a invitees only group on FB. you don invite SELECTED people by sticking flyers on walls.

[This was a private event. Please tell us how you have taken this flyer]

It was never a private event from the moment u stuck the flyer on the wall. it was made public right there, right then.

[Please provide us your rights to publish this]

Freedom of speech. he didn’t come to your house to take the flyer. it was available publicly. did you atleast have a note on the flyer saying it’s copyrighted?

[Please remove this blog and all the links which are associated with this blog]

first.. did you mean BLOG as a whole or Blog Post? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ in either case, you don’t have the rights. go look it up with your 5th grader.

advice: grow up dude.. this ain’t a big deal. it’s a topic of discussion which will be forgotten over another blog post.

Lexi if you tell me what personal information you want me to remove I will gladly remove it. I won’t even get into the subject of if I have a right to post a picture of a flyer that was in a public place or not nor will I get into the legality of holding a party like this since it’s really not worth it to me. But as you already are aware I never included your phone number in my post and had blurred out the number in the image I posted. So if you could tell me what personal info you want me to remove I will be more than happy to. You could also contact flickr and have them remove your flyer from their website as well.

Mark you should call the cops on this guy!

1) Parties are illegal in Kuwait
2) Charging for illegal parties in Kuwait is illegal
3) Mixing of men and women at parties is illegal
4) If they search the guys house I am sure they might find something
5) He was racist
6) You actually didn’t post any private information, the only information thats private his is phone number which you never posted and you can’t read it in the picture you published here
7) This party was not for selected people as lexi was saying because he was trying to collect and get new people by asking them to sign up to his sms list for future parties

So relax, call the cops and let them deal with him!

1. Parties are not illegal in Kuwait. There are all kinds of parties all the time. I have been to three or four, each at a prominent hotel not some guy’s basement; and each with 100+ guests. You haven’t seen birthday parties at restaurants?

2. No, again, you are wrong. There is nothing wrong with charging for parties. My company gave a party to which we had to purchase a ticket. Yeah, I am waiting for the cops to come shut us down. Stop spreading FUD.

3. Again, it is not illegal. Have you ever been to a wedding? I have, and I have the pictures to prove that mixing of men and women is not “illegal”. If it were so, all malls would be shut down and we’d have the moral police on overtime. Again, stop spreading FUD.

4. Yes, because he is holding a private event, of course it is illegal! This has no bearing whatsoever.

5. No he wasn’t. Not inviting people to a party is not racist. In fact if you (or any of the other people who started barking on the racist mantra) ever knew real racism, you would know this isn’t it. Saying so puts the plight of all those that suffer real racism to shame.

I think what really happened here, someone who Lexi invited wasn’t as discrete as he/she hoped; the little secret got out, and now Lexi is trying to get the cat back in the bag. That is all.

The rest of are complaining because they didn’t get invited ๐Ÿ™‚

Bring on the hate mail ๐Ÿ˜€

Guys chill !!! who doesnt like to party eh? now who is organizing the next one?? lol
stay cool…. do and let do ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lexi, you might consider going through how the flyer was made public before blaming it on Mark
We were not blaming on Mark.

We just want him to simply remove the blog as it is creating bad impression between people.
Although, if Mark decided to keep it, it will be his choice. We do respect his rights.

Again, Arab Dudes = not allowed, Arab Women are welcome?
We did not invite Arab women as well; maybe we should have mentioned that.

You made it available for public by sticking it on a wall. so you really lost it on this point.

We have not stuck this flyer in public places. We have not placed this on walls. We have handed this to the people we knew and had personal interests.

Thanks

Grrrr…. why do u keep saying blog? it’s gettin on my nerves…. blog is the whole website….
say blog post… :p

so u mean one of ur invitees pasted it on a wall… probably he was not too happy with the crowd. :p

Peace!!

We were approached by the Police to investigate this event but they were not able to find anything illegal.
We asked for the people to signup via SMS for future activities: for the same people who would like to come to our next events.
An entry change was to cover our expenses and services we have provided.
We do understand that charging people without proper license is an illegal act. Thanks.

Lexi, please stop wasting our time, if you think you haven’t done anything wrong with the event, or to whom it was targeted, why do you care so much if it’s made public? Why are you so concerned?

Thank you Mark for your efforts.
Thank you all for your remarks.
This discussion will discontinue from our end.
Have a good day people!

Hey how come only Westerners are allowed to have parties that serve ‘forbidden’ stuff? I like some ‘forbidden stuff’ once in a while too and I’m an Easterner ๐Ÿ˜›
