A new website just got launched that’s similar in style to Sheeel.com where every day a new product gets listed at a discounted rate. The site is called deals.com.kw and I’m guessing they saw how successful Sheeel was and decided to do something similar. Competition is good and at the end of day we now have another option which is also good. Here is their [Link]

They didn’t steal the idea…they were inspired by others. The good part is you guys have Cash on Delivery option that Sheel doesn’t have.
By the way, run spell check before uploading content “How it works!” section.

Good luck with your new site. Please learn from Sheeel’s mistakes and do some market research about the products you will be selling. Sheeel’s offers are mostly garbage with a few gems here and there. Try to have more gems and less garbage.

If it was say, weekly they could afford to have gems every day but you run out of good stuff to sell eventually lol

Ali it doesn’t make sense. The idea is an item a day, your description says an item a day but you now have an item for 3 days. Even if there isn’t traffic, you need to change the offer, if you are going to keep the same item and wait for traffic you will be pushing traffic away.
Sheeel were changing their items daily even when they were not popular.

Also, like Yeni said, please do some research about these products. All the deals I have seen on Sheeel have not really been deals.. I haven’t felt that I really needed any of those things and the deal wasn’t awesome enough to make me want it. Daily Deals if your reading this, your first “deal” is something for KD 40.. Subscribe to Groupon you guys and see what kind of deals they have.. Check out the UAE Groupon.. they got it right..

True there were some good deals.. You just named 3 out of how many days they’ve been operating though? What I was saying is the majority of the time they don’t have what I would consider good deals.. I know they’re catering to a different market here but like I said if anyone gets the deals from Groupon they would know what I’m talking about.
Lets put it this way, they can’t sell nano’s for KD30 every day or they would go out of business. What they do is sell regular boring items majority of the time for prices maybe slightly less than the market, but then every now and then they insert something everyone wants and for very cheap just to stir up traffic and chatter, then they go back to their regular programming. That’s how their business functions, they make a loss on some items not all items.

This is Kuwait, this has been going on for decades. Look at Rehab in hawalli – one guy opened a videogame store oh look 30 videogame stores in the same complex
that’s actually not just Kuwait, there is a business term for this where shops selling the same thing all open up together so they can survive off of each other.
Not to mention the glut of Japanese places after Maki did well, the sudden surge in frozen yogurt after Pinkberry did well, the burger craze after the first B+F started doing well.
The saddest thing is most of these never outperform the already established brands but hey it’s easier than thinking of your own ideas right
Personally, I’m addicted to websites like these. I find myself purchasing things I don’t need just because of the “once it’s gone, it’s gone” factor. The same thing with MAC cosmetics. They bring in limited edition items once every 3 weeks. Girls go insane. If it was permanent, I doubt some of these things would be out of stock in less than an hour. Clever marketing ploy, I think.
i don’t trust them, they do offer good deals but for very limited quantity just to create a buzz.
