Fight in Souq Al-Mubarakiya

Nothing like a good fight video to start off the week. [YouTube]

Thanks Robert

1. In California, a woman turned herself in to police after allegedly pepper-spraying 20 other customers at a Los Angeles-area Walmart on Thursday. The fact that the women had no concern for the the health and well-being of those around her is frightening. Is the woman a psychopath? Nobody knows, of course. But be aware that sociopaths also are shoppers vying for the same bargain as others. The pepper-spraying was to buy a crate of Xbox video game consoles.
Look what Black Friday frenzy possibly has wrought in the name of health trends pointing at violence and no concern for other shoppers:

2. In Kinston, N.C., a security guard also pepper-sprayed customers seeking electronics before the start of a midnight sale.

3. In New York, crowds reportedly looted a clothing store in Soho.

4. At a Walmart near Phoenix, a man was bloodied while being subdued by police officer on suspicion of shoplifting a video game.

5. There was a shooting outside a store in San Leandro, California.

6. Shots were fired at a mall in Fayetteville, N.C.

7. There was a stabbing outside a store in Sacramento, N.Y.

Umm… I thought I lived in Kuwait – which is what Mark’s post was about. It is a no-brainer that he would publish information about this country and not another.

You should had Commented about the post whether you support or no cos what you mention about states doesn’t make sense to this post.

Just be cool you don’t have to be upset or defensive cos trust me not worth it.

Do they sell pepper spray in Kuwait? Some of this stuff might come in handy one day. It seems people here are loosing it all over the place. Come back to Kuwait (Qster) and go to school at AUK or something if you hate it so much in the US.

FYI, the men in dishdashas who caused the fight were Saudi Arabians. I was there. As soon as they walked into that area they were trying everything they could to start shit up and fight. IDK WTF was up with them. The fight was between them and the restaurant workers. Just to put things into perspective.

Nope, there were not Saudi, they were indigenous.

From Arab Times:
Seven people were injured when four citizens and seven Egyptians working at a restaurant in Souk Mubarakiya engaged in a fierce fight using chairs and sharp objects.
Acting on information, a rescue team was deployed to the scene, and the injured people were referred to the Amiri Hospital for medical attention while the others fighters were taken to the Salhiya police station. A case was registered.

yeah i know, i was merely responding to past and future comments that might attempt to single our Kuwaiti society as more violent than other, K.

I don’t understand why everyone gets so defensive when things like this are brought up. This blog is about KUWAIT or things that affect KUWAIT! what happened is bad! PERIOD. what you mentioned that happened in USA is also bad and there are blogs that people write and discuss those issues. This blog isn’t about bashing Kuwait. Mark comments about everything good and bad, from Kuwaitis making their mark abroad to crappy stuff that happens in Kuwait. Saying worse things happen abroad doesn’t diminish what happens here! I think you need to chill and just see things as they are and not take this blog personally!

ok where did i say what happened was a good thing. The above post was meant against COMMENTS which might SINGLE OUT KUWAITI SOCIETY. Get it through ur thick skull.

No you get it through your think skull or are you afraid to criticize your government? Your police are ill-trained and the growing violence in the country is not being addressed by your government or are they too busy polishing the cookie jar?

Where was Kuwait singled out??? FYI this happened in Kuwait! So why get defensive? Were you in the fight? What did I say for you to get so rude? This is exactly what I was talking about! Everytime a bad event is reported, I’m assuming yr Kuwaiti, get rude and defensive.

What you should be saying is this is against Kuwaiti culture and let’s do something about it BEFORE it reaches the proportions it has in the west!

As from me, you can sweep it under the rug as it often happens here or I sincerely hope it makes you want to make this country a better place!

Hahaha, the WWE chair fight, and we could make a mile long list of fights in every country, who cares it happens. What is relevant is that most of us are in Kuwait now and this is happening around us, near our families and friends..

I don’t understand why these fights are occurring so frequently now in malls, souqs, and public areas in Kuwait lately. Isn’t anybody studying the root cause?

What a shame. It makes me sad for Kuwait 🙁

Instead if just commenting why don’t engage your brain and read my comments about why i posted what i posted. Most people here just react and post instead of reading thinking then posting. Where in my post did i BLAME the US for anything?

All i said was that these things happened to the USA as well and that you shouldn’t single out Kuwaiti society this wasn’t a rant against mark but against any commenter who might single out Q8ty society

Instead of making asinine pre-emptive comments, in other words making comments on what people may or may not comment on, why don’t you “engage” your mind and stay on topic instead of looking like a fool. While I understand that you are standing up for Kuwait, there is no reason to try and make other countries look bad just to make Kuwait look good. It doesn’t work that way, shit still happens in Kuwait whether you like it or not and pointing out the faults in others won’t change that.

As for your second comment “Anyone singling out Kuwait as this perverse violent society is a clueless ignorant idiot (who should travel more).” You really should read that again and replace Kuwait with U.S.A. and replace the anyone part with your name, because again you jumped to conclusions when no one else did that about Kuwait. If you are talking about Mark singling out Kuwait, then understand this… We live in Kuwait, it’s a blog and it mostly involves blogs ABOUT Kuwait so it stands to reason that it will feature good AND bad things happening in Kuwait.

Most people, no scratch that. Mature people know that you cannot judge a society based on the actions of a few, that doesn’t change even if it’s on Youtube or whatever. So stop making sorry excuses for Kuwait and point out the good things in Kuwait instead of trying to make others countries look bad, in other words “engage your brain” and think before mouthing off on some imaginary comments that no one has made.

Lol i’m standing up for my country why do u care if the US looks bad what a pussy. Another mouth sucking on America’s cock.

I care because I’m American… What a lame comeback by the way, I guess you couldn’t “engage your brain”. Oh and don’t you live in the U.S? Let’s say you don’t live in the U.S. do you even live in Kuwait, or are you too ashamed to live here? Go crawl back to that hole you crawled out of, and next time try to see if your “brain” can put together bigger words instead of throwing out cuss words to try and make a point. It makes you look even more stupid than you really are, if that’s even possible.

Oh and by American, I mean real American. Not the ” My mom got on a plane and flew to NY or Washington D.C. so she could have me in an American hospital so I could have American citizenship but I keep my Kuwaiti citizenship in case the government gives more handouts”

What is wrong with you??? Where do your issues come from? I know “getting help” is another taboo here but seriously dude, you clearly need some sort of help. You started lashing out right from the beginning. This is a blog about conversing and opinions of things happening in Kuwait. If it’s too much for you, maybe you shouldn’t read it!

I seriously hope everyone who was involved in the fight got the punishment they deserved. Seriously you does that, specially at a place filled with woman and children, cops should have the right to start tazing these idiots.

pretty cool video to watch but not be a part of. I could hear ladies screaming throughout the video. Hope no one was seriously injured.

funny how civilization is falling apart.. kuwait is becoming like ‘Grand Theft Auto’.. so much corruption.. its gona end up as Dante’s Inferno..

How the Fight started:

This is not new , it happened a lot in the 90’s 80’s and 70’s . i have witnessed many fights over the years that were scary and in public places ,and the only difference today is the fact that we have the internet ( you tube , twitter etc ) and mobile phones to record everything . its been like this in Kuwait for years and it always involves those whom are less educated and come from broken homes with absentee fathers .
