Gulf Run 5 Trailer #2

GulfRun is coming up pretty quickly and the video above is the new trailer the guys just released. I personally think this is their best video so far. GulfRun 5 is going to be held from January 28th to the 30th in Bahrain and everyone is invited to come and watch.

This year they’ve got a special treat for spectators with something they’ve called the GulfRun Taxi Ride service. Basically they will have three cars in which spectators will be able to hop into the passenger seat and ride around the track. The three cars are the Lotus 211, a Radical and the Westfield SE, all of which are track machines. I haven’t seen the list of cars that will be participating this year but Marzouq over at zDistrict did and he says its going to be even crazier than last year.

All the cars are going to be on display next month at 360 Mall and I will post about that event ahead of time so you guys can pass by and check them out. As I mentioned earlier, everyone is invited to GulfRun 5 in Bahrain next month. There is no entrance fee or anything of that sort just get a ticket and fly over to Bahrain. [YouTube]

We have to fly to attend a car event. with all the car enthusists we have here it is really amazing how we dont have our own track in Kuwait.
though we were first to have some kid of track back in the 80’s.
They won’t even allow you to get a licence to build one!! What a mess of a country

Tracks like the BIC (Bahrain International Circuit) don’t make any money; it would be crazy building one in every country. The BIC only pumps money to the economy during the grand prix weekend. Plus Kuwait Bahrain it’s all the same just an hour by plane.

FYI : there are events all year around at the BIC . either it be racing events, concerts as well as a monthly open race track for cars and bikes. basically it can be privately rented by anyone for anything. its not a huge weekend like GP wknd all the time, but they keep it occupied as much as they can.

triple-a, forget what you they tell you. there is no way the BIC is more profitable than the european circuits which literally host events every single day of the year and those are on the verge of bankruptcy, example silverstone. but because the bic is owned by the government the money it brings into the country as a whole out ways the runing cost. what i’m trying to say is without hosting a F1 race there is no point building an F1 circuit.

FYI, i agree 100%, without hosting an f1 race it is not profitable at all. i just wanted to clear up that there are other events taking place at the venue, although the bulk of their money comes in from an f1 wknd.

FYI It doesnt have to be as hi tech as the bic lets just get the asphalt and some sort of safe management the government already pays for football fields as well as other sports its about the social returns to the community not the financial

as the others have said, you don’t need a high tech one like Bahrain’s. The payoff differs for many tracks and in many times it depends on how affluent the enthusists in the region are. In kuwait we have above average affluent customers w/ passion for cars. and I bet you can host very successful events at least 8-9 months in the year.

We can have a track here as well.. !! it would be amaazing!
and even if its not profitable who cares, its not like its owned by some privately owned companies. And drivers care enough for cars that they are ready to keep the track maintained and be the part of the community.
