While looking for something else I accidentally found a PDF on the Ministry of Oil’s website that has a bunch of old pictures of petrol stations in Kuwait dating back to the early 50s. The PDF is over 200 pages and around 40MB’s in size so not really practical to go through it. But, I chose four of my favorite pictures and posted them below for you to see.
If you’re interested, you can download the PDF containing other images from their website [Here]

Surprisingly some of the gas stations still look like that!
My favorite is the gas station in the second thumbnail

I wonder if that is the gas station in Sharq
i love those old pictures!
Kuwait needs 3 times the current gas stations to cover the demand btw
a guy at KPI told me that there was a study that Kuwait needed twice the number back in 1992, imagine how many we need now
What country you wait in line to put gas!!!!
Different solution: Raise the price of gas 500% to match world demand, everyone will stop driving around
Nothing would change since public transportation at the moment isn’t a practical alternative.
This is assuming people actually have a destination when they are in their cars
Kuwait looked like a town in the American Midwest haha
so true!
looks like not much has changed from the 50’s in this dept. lol
I like how clean the sand was back then. No cans of pepsi or other litter.
