Il Tetto

Il Tetto

A new Italian restaurant opened up right next to Maki at Marina Waves. The owner of it is supposedly the same owner as Pomodoro. I just got invited to their Pasta Tuesday but not sure if I can go yet, if I do I will post my review here. For now you can check out their website for more details. [Link]

I was actually there this past week for one of the soft-opening nights. I was seated outside and the atmosphere was pretty nice and different (maybe because it was still the soft-opening?).

I actually just had a salad over there (wasn’t that hungry), i have mixed feelings about it, but overall came out satisfied, the salad was a mushroom marinated shrimp salad. A few hours later, I decided to try one of the dessert items… caramel cheesecake… its a winner.

The only real negative aspect that I could find about the place is that the outside seating area is located right in front of the restaurant and across the “bridge” like structure that connects the two upper parts of Marina Waves. I would assume the seating on the bridge like structure would be amazing especially because of the view it offers, but then again tables are limited over there. Unfortunately we were seated in front of the restaurant, meaning we were overlooking the wall climbing structure which was infested with tens of young kids, screaming, yelling, and lighting off fireworks… :@

I went their yesterday.. i tried the starters, Mixed Bruchette is nice we liked it. Parmigiana di melanazane is amazing that we order twice !!
Fruiti looti is delicious .. they offered caramel cheese cake, we might go back their for it .. give it a try it deserves.

THERE! THERE!

Their is the possessive form indicating belonging to them. You should only use this when you are indicating possession to a group.

There is the place, i.e. not here.
It is also used when saying ‘there is’ and ‘there are’.

Just a little grammar rant.

I am not sure what you are on about.
It’s THEIR Pasta Tuesday not THERE Pasta Tuesday.
Pasta tuesday isn’t a location.
It’s also THEIR website not THERE website since the website belongs to them.

More Filipinos trying to cook Italian?
The only really authentic Italian food I ever had in the Middle East was in the Oasis Hotel in Bahrain years ago and the chef was actually Italian. he came out after to check how we had enjoyed our food and we all ended up at a night club next door. He,however, resigned.

cg – As one of the owners of IL TETTO let me start by saying, thank you for coming and it was our pleasure having you there. The seats outside are limited due to us wanting to stay somewhat exclusive at all times, hence calling ahead for a reservation can insure you a table on the bridge. Also, any more tables and our service will start deteriorating due to our kitchen size and number of staff. As far as the kids screaming and yelling, it was EID and kids where just being kids 🙂 – Thank you again for coming, thank you for your comments and you’re welcome at IL TETTO, anytime.

Organic kuwait – There are some very good Italian restaurants in Kuwait, and I have hardly been majorly disappointed by any myself.. but please do call me on 555-TETTO and let me know when you plan on paying us a visit and I’ll make sure you aren’t disappointed with this particular Italian restaurant.

Shosho – Thank you and hayakom Alah eb ay wagt.

mosan – I have to majorly disagree with you on that. My partner – aka the owner of Pomodoro (which is now closed by the way) did an amazing job bring Pomodoro’s FIRST branch in the middle east to Kuwait – 7 years ago – and building it to become one of the BEST Italian restaurants in Kuwait. Almost everyone who lived here knows Pomodoro and trust me when I tell you, A LOT of people loved the food. The reason for closing it down is that we have a bigger and nicer concept going up in its place once the construction of the 1st ring road is over.

K.TheKuwaiti – Thank you so much for coming and im glad you liked our food. We strive towards making our guests experiences an unparalleled one. As far as the outdoor décor, everyone has his own taste in interior design, some think the un-finished industrial look is amazing and some think it’s boring and half finished, I of course love how big and comfortable and luxurious our outdoor chairs are, as do most our guests so far, but please do let us know if you think we should throw some pillows around on those chairs or if you found them uncomfortable or even if you think they just don’t match our interior, as we love hearing everyone’s feedback and comments. Thanks again for coming and 7ayak eb ay wagt.

Teach – MOST Filipinos are very good at what they do and I personally know of a few very good cooks from all over the Philippines working right here in Kuwait in some very popular and classy restaurants. That been said, let me assure you that 90% of our staff members are not Filipinos (not that we would ever mind hiring dedicated good-working Filipinos to cook our food our serve our guests). And our head chef is an Arab who lived, learned and worked in Italy as a chef of course for over 6 years. Also, our kitchen staff has been trained by some of our favorite Italian chefs that we flew in from Italy, as we of course will always have the same and other Italian chefs coming in from all over Italy to come re-train our staff insuring that our menu and dishes are always up to date, that we always have new dishes to offer our customers and that our food is always of the best Italian standards and the quality doesn’t change. You are welcome to come give our food a try at anytime and let me know what you think. 🙂

I loved Pomodoro sadly they changed the location. it was very nice back there.. Went last time and it was closed and I just called them up to find that they’ve changed the name too!!! IL Tetto same menu as pomodoro…

I was there a couple months ago and loved the decor and the view but found the food pretty bland and boring. I had high hopes for the restaurant but as most of the Italian restaurants in Kuwait go, it was disappointing.
