Whenever I need anything computer related the first place I always visit is Limra Computer Center in Hawalli. It’s a small store (nothing close to being a “center”) located on the ground floor of Walla Complex. I used to be a Professional Computer fan (located one floor above) but somehow I started buying all my stuff from Limra a few years ago and since then I’ve been a regular. The place has character and the main guy (Shankar) is very knowledgable. Depending on when you pass by the place could be packed with people and you’ll have to wait outside the shop until there’s enough room for you to squeeze in. Check them out next time you’re in Hawalli looking for stuff, they’re very trustworthy. Their phone number is 22631043.

Walla complex, downstairs in the basement.
Bought a fan for my computer there, they just charged 5kd for fitting.
But when i got back my computer, it was polished, cleaned & Re-Wired, on the house.
That would have charged extra, but the Owner hooked me up big time. Hence my loyalty

This is why i like Mark’s Blog. His information is always helpful and with good details and in the end trustworthy too. I also buy from Limra. Very knowledgeable person – Shankar. Customers get good rate and good advice.
Shankar is good, but i hate it when i make large purchase and then find out he over charged me over one item… all the discounts he gave to me he took back.
I agree. You can find some stuff, especially graphic cards, a little over priced. Always better to compare and contrast. But in the end, they all belong to the Walla’a mafia. They all over price stuff. But some are worse than others.

but me being a freelanceing Network eng,i have daily visit at hawally market . there are more shops and dealers whose price is much less to limra or as mark named professional.
yaa technically shankar or any body at limra are very fine and guide u to exact product. otherwise in hawally people just know the product and its prices and no other info on it.

Most of the time I go to him to discuss things but don’t buy a lot from him because of his overpricing

Shankar is a very good guy and knowledgeable indeed, but don’t always trust his prices.
that day i’ve asked for a PoE (power of Ethernet switch), he told me the cheapest one was 8 ports ( 4 ports PoE other 4 are normal) is for 35 KD
i bought the same one from Cameo (Tendnet Agent) behind alqayrawan complex for 18 KD !
He probably didn’t have it himself and was getting it from another party. I needed the Cisco SR2016T Switch and he quoted me KD56. Another store quoted me KD60. Finally got it from the supplier directly for KD46.

Because i found out that once they know you .. They start raising thier prices .. Try them yourself and compare them with others
